An Introductory Reunion.
Tina had to get away from Xavier's for a bit. The closer in proximity she was to her fellow X-types and mutants the higher the odds that she'd develop a new ability. Tina was growing weary of the now-normal searing pain of her genetics rewiring to accommodate something new and while it was fun she couldn't go drinking with Rose every night. She elected to go home for a bit, to go stretch out on her own couch and just relax in the relative peace and quiet of her brownstone. Justin could come stay the night when he wanted to (provided she could lure him out of the lab...some flirtatious texts often did the trick) and she would be safe to try to get a handle on what the hell was going on with her since Providence. Dr. McCoy still had no lead on fixing her and Tina realized she had to psychologically brace herself for the possibility that she might never be her brand of normal again.

Today, she'd gotten up early. Just had been there for the night so she got up, made him breakfast, sent him out the door (which made her feel kind of like a housewife, which as nice) and then sat herself down with a cup of coffee. The day was still pretty early and she had a blank canvas. A second cup of coffee in hand, she tried to decide what to do for the day. It was kind of liberating to have no plans, but boring just the same.

"You're serious about the whole marriage thing, aren't you?" he asks quietly. She's said it before and he just assumed she was trying to say what he wanted to hear, or that she was trying to float the idea along to see how he'd take it.

He loves Tina, but...marriage is a huge idea, let alone a huge step. And his heart condition has to be factored in to every decision they make about their lives from now until whenever and beyond.

"Then I'll just have to keep you close, won't I?" he grins.

"Emma hasn't called me in a couple of weeks. I'm kind of hoping that means she's gotten the message that I don't particularly want to include her in my life. Considering Bruce's side of the story, though, I'm sure she'd be pissed off. I'd call to gloat, but I don't want her showing up here." Tina shrugged and dried another plate. "She'll find out eventually I suppose."

Justin couldn't imagine not wanting to talk to his mother. He loved both versions of her equally, and it saddened him to see that Tina's relationship with her own mother had fallen so far.

"Are you really okay with not seeing her anymore, Tina? I mean, we all say stuff that sounds good in the beginning, but...would you really be happy if you never heard from your mom again?" he asks.

	Justin still can't figure why any mother would do that. There had to something Tina didn't know or something that Shaw had told her that just wasn't true. He takes the dish from Tina and hugs her. "Look, I shouldn't have brought it up. Do you want to watch a movie? I'll finish this and make us some popcorn if you want to go change." he says. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Justin watches Tina walk away (a favorite thing of his to do) and then finishes the dishes, then starts on the popcorn. Of course, he forgot to ask what movie she wanted to watch so he selected Transformers, which happens to be his favorite movie. 	Justin passes her the popcorn bowl and starts to massage her feet. "It's just so cool, Tina. I mean, if I'd seen movies like this when I was a kid, I'd have wanted to be War Machine sooner." If you can have a relationship with your dad, take that chance. I've managed to botch it twice now and I wish I knew how not to. So, don't be like me, please." he says. "Why are you so sure you've botched your chance with your dad here?" She sighs a little. "It's just weird, Justin. I mean, now I know for certain I was never wanted. I was just a consequence of an ill-planned scheme. It's really...bothersome. And I'm not sold that Bruce wants me for me. He has a son who has pretty much told him to sit and spin. I can't help but wonder if I'm just a handy substitute."
