Down Is Up, and Up Is Down
The Stark/Romanov Family Dinner. It was a study and exercise in insanity. They were usually loud, chaotic and entertaining to say the least. Natasha wasn't quite sure if she was up for this one or not. Her back was hurting and her ankles and feet were uncomfortably swollen. The good feeling of the second trimester was gone and the uncomfortable third was here. Though she wouldn't back out or tell Tony she didn't want to do it. They would have dinner and be entertained by the kids. Or so she hoped.

Picking a place was key, but this time she opted for Tony to get a private room at Delmonico's. Steak for the carnivores and private so that if things got loud they wouldn't embarrass themselves. And Natasha felt like dressing up a bit.

She had a new dress from Jan, a new pair of shoes and the earrings Tony gave her when she proposed to him.

When she and Tony were ready, he drove them to the restaurant. They even managed to beat the kids there.

"My car. A '71 Dodge Demon. Anya that it was funny to put an AI in her. Darlene thinks she's my personal assistant now."

Natasha chuckled. "I must say she's working out quite well for you. You don't miss appointments and you get where you're going on time."

Tony chooses this moment to take a sip of water, wisely staying out of the Darlene issue. No good comes of teasing Misha about that car.

"That's just not cool."

"He was talking to it. Whole conversations with it. I thought it should be able to talk back," Anya said. "I won't mess with Steve's car. I save that torment for you."

"There's nothing wrong with talking to Darlene. It passed the time when I was doing maintenance. Now she talks back, with suggestions, and directions to a place called Jared's."

"Darlene has tasted. Diamonds are a girl's best friend," Natasha said. There may have been the slightest hint of a smirk on her face.

"You don't mess with a guy's car," Stevie said. "It's part of the guy-car code."

And occasional girl-car code.

"Now, Tasha, don't encourage them. Next thing you know, we'll have AI's in our house doing all manner of weird things. Eddie doesn't have to know about that kind of stuff until he's older. Isn't that right, buddy?" he asks her tummy.

"Unfortunately the guy-car code forgot to include sisters with access to far more technology than the average girl. Speaking of technology, Brat, you still have my phone. Don't think I didn't notice. It had better not have another embarrassing ringtone when I get a call."

Tony just kisses his wife so that he doesn't say anything about the whole Eddie-Nick bit. He still thinks Neddie is a good nickname but...yeah.

His curiosity was piqued at Misha and Anya's conversation, but he didn't want to jump into that; too many possibilities for other discoveries. The appetizers showed up and Tony smiled.

"Time for food, buddy! Are you making your mom crazy with hunger?" he asks.

He took the phone and put it back in his pocket. A glare was reserved for Eliza. Right now he wasn't that sorry he hadn't gotten to know her better.

He took the conversation off cars and Stevie, and shifted it back to the people who arranged the dinner. And off any questions he didn't want to answer. "I know I was four the last time you two had a baby, but did you guys act like this then?"

"That sounds like a crazy hungry Mommy to me, buddy! What do you think?" he asks Tasha's belly. After a few seconds go by, Tony speaks again.

"I agree and you raise a good point about Misha. He's way too grumpy." Tony says.
