Introductions (Nicolai, eventually Melissa and Kelly)
Definitely needed to distract Nicolai before they all went mad on the news. Until he got clearance to go home, they needed something to get their minds off of This.

So she came in carrying the file someone else had just prepared. "They finished the background check on my sister's girlfriend. And...there's a little insight into her Upsetting Family Issues, at least. She's the orphan of criminals."

Nicolai gave the brief expression concern when the situation of his beloved home country is mentioned. However goes back to normal very quickly. “Yes that is the situation to which Bea was referring to. I’ve been told to stay here and not to come home. Which needless to say I’m not too thrilled about that.”

Nicolai then took a look over Melissa and Kelly. He wasn’t sure what to make of them yet and Kelly sitting in Melissa’s lap wasn’t helping. “Now let’s get back down to business. What can you tell me about yourselves?”

"Well, if you want to know basics, we're under twenty, we're handle in a battle and we're as loyal as you get if the money is right. We honor our commitments and follow orders to the letter. We also leave our own morals at the door when it comes to a mission, though we're not a pair of shrinking violets." Melissa says, going on as though Kelly were sitting in the chair across from her and not on her lap.

"Kelly is great with information and she's got a wide knowledge of weapons and tactics. I'm got some tactical and weapon knowledge as well, but my forte tends to fall in the range of 'freelance' mysticism. If you need a demon found, bound, or slain, I can make that happen. I also know a variety of offensive cantrips and defensive charms to minimize damage and maximize damage output.

My methods are not exactly nice, but my partner will tell you that I don't skin kids or bunnies to get my power the way some mystics do.

I skin bad people, demons and the occasional rogue angel to make things work.

Kelly, anything you wanna add?" she asks.

Kelly shrugs. "Against all odds and appearances, give me a gun and a mission, and I get it done. I'm sure my half-sister informed you of my mutie gifts. My turn offs are boring people, long walks on the beach because there's all those air-headed bimbos out there that are apparently turned on by them, and mystics who skin kids and bunnies for power. My turn ons are... really disturbing. If you have anything else, feel free to ask."

“You’ll have to forgive me Melissa my knowledge of magic is not very great so I’ll take your word for it until I can see a demonstration. It is good to hear that you do not do some of the more distasteful practices that you could with magic,” Nicolai said taking mental notes on what they just said.

“What can you tell me about your past work?”

"I'll tell you that we have knowledge of demolitions as well, and we're great and working with condensed timetables. Granted, we work better with a little more time, but we'll never call something impossible simply because we have less prep time." Melissa says.

"I've worked mostly alone or with Kelly recently, but I'm not opposed to working with a team as long as everyone can be respectful or at least tolerant of those with different lifestyles." Melissa adds.

"I'm not one to judge, so I only ask for the same respect." she smiles.

"I was programmed slave labor for the Weapon-X program for years. With them, I did a bit of everything you'd expect of Weapon X. Retrieval, search and destroy, demolitions, item recovery, infiltration, spying, custody breaks, wetworks and occasional jaywalking. I can pass ASA sniper certification blindfolded. I don't have certification, go figure given a lack of a legal identity, but I can demonstrate familiarity and proficiency with all NATO and Warsaw Pact personal arms. I can make military grade explosives in the kitchen. May tell you something about my work that I can give you a book report on the security profiles, primary military personnel and political luminaries of any nation that can so much as spell terrorism. I don't pretend to be a nice person. But nice people don't volunteer to work for Symkaria during a time of war with Latveria. I have no remaining ties to Weapon X, and, despite my insubordinate personality and questionable work history, I follow the orders of the people paying the bills. That enough info for my G.I. Joe battle profile card?"

“You too have quite the background experience,” Nicolai says, “Much more than most people your ages. We are fairly tolerant of how people live so long as it does not hurt the company. As such we do have one major rule that I want to make sure you can abide, No unnecessary deaths. We do try if possible not to kill people but we do understand that that isn’t always an option.”

"I kill people who deserve it, and right now, there are exactly.../four/ people on the planet right now that are on my 'list', as it were. Granted, the number goes up exponentially when others shoot at me, but if someone's smart enough to realize the error of their ways, I'm happy enough to let them go." Melissa says.

It's mostly true. She's not really happy letting anyone who attacks her walk away, but she's also not hard up to risk herself to kill anyone that's not on her list.

"My mother and father each taught me about a variety of small caliber firearms as well as a few bigger ones. My mercenary training has come from Kelly in recent months, but I've picked up on it pretty quick. I know a lot of people in the criminal underworld, at least in America, that used to work with my old man.

And since I'm sure you two did the background check, I don't have a lot of contact with my grandfather. The infrequent call and the even-more-rare visit. However, he's never been happy that Mom settled down with my old man, so he's got that whole aristocratic indignance that my blood isn't /pure/.

Then again, he's got no other heirs, so he's stuck with me refusing him." Melissa offers.

"I know my dad. He keeps calling me to come pick him up from the bowling alley. My mom doesn't know I exist. So no family ties there. I was all but born with a gun in my hand, and life was pretty much missions or training for the next mission, until I got my walking papers. So yeah, a little bit trained. Anyway, I got nothing against anyone specific who has nothing against me. There's a couple people my girl here needs to cure of that breathing thing, but I don't think you folks will have any issues when you get the list of names. I won't lie, I've done plenty of wetworks assignments... and believe me, some of them were pretty wet and squishy... but I'm fine with shooting to wound too if that's the assignment."

"I only know the small bits that I've heard from Kelly. You guys work out of Symkaria for the royal family and you recruit when you need extra muscle.

I also here that you guys bust heads elsewhere for the right price, but if I'm missing something, please fill me in. " Melissa says.

"What she said, though we don't have much else lined up, and I think we're fine with moving to scenic Symkaria, potentially immediately for on-the-quiet-ops, for the right payscale. We just have an obligation or two in New York... certain war criminal, if you count gang wars, that there's some unfinished business with, though we're guessing he's left town. Any help tracing him would be a strong consideration as far as benefits go... seeing as I don't need the health plan."
