A middle-aged man in official looking uniform of some European fashion arrives at the Baxter Building.

"I am here to speak with Kristoff Vernard and Vincent von Doom, on behalf of the monarch of Latveria, Victor von Doom."

	The man raises fingers to his monocle, clearing his throat as the younger men appear. "Young Master, Doctor Vernard. Thank you for your time. I will be brief." He produces an ornately marked parchment, extending it, after a moment's hesitation, to Vincent. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Vincent hesitates as well, before taking the parchment. No palpable magic, no gentle hum of even the thinnest circuitry.

There was also the matter that it bore the Latverial royal seal. It would have been distasteful for it to be booby-trapped.

He unrolled it, reading it carefully, and keeping his expression controlled as the color drained from his face.

"He wants to speak with us." He turns to Kristoff, showing him the details. "It's a letter of safe passage across the next seventy-two hours."

	"The commands given to me were very specific. I am not to leave until I receive your answer over whether or not you will be accepting the Master's invitation." "Life isn't always about what we want to do, phral." Vincent says with resolve.

"If it were just him being him, he'd just demand one or both of our presences. There'd be no trifling with a mark of safe passage. Whatever this is, the rational part of his brain must label it as sufficiently important."

A pause. "And at the risk of stating the obvious, it's not as if I expected the whole string of events to pass without some kind of response..."
