Little Shop of Handguns and then some (Open to SHIELD)
Since his visit to Bon Temps a few months ago, Tech has done his best to keep busy and prove his worth to the higher-ups for keeping him on payroll. He awakens each morning, showers, has breakfast, and goes to training with Sammy. He spends a couple of hours getting his ass kicked (though he's been able to lay a hand on her a couple of times, a point of pride for him), then goes back to his room for another shower and a little rest before reporting to his lab.

Visitors to the lab see him either scribbling furiously on a notepad or assembling and firing one of his various handguns or semi-automatic weapons while muttering to himself about balance, trajectory and weight. Visitors are not discouraged from watching as long they observe two rules.

One: Do not eat the Wildberry Skittles in the jar on the table. This is focus-food and it disrupts his concentration when people eat his focus-food.

Two: Please stand or sit to his left, but /never/ his right.  The second rule has nothing to do with his work, but the place at his right is reserved for a particular visitor and he doesn't want anyone messing it up. Most agents to visit him mumble that he's either a genius or he's a whack-job with no social skills and he's content to let the matter lie at that.

Why bother challenging it when it's so much fun to let them guess?

Today, Tech sits at his work table at his laptop finishing final calibrations on the new G.H.O.S.T. suits he's been working on for the team in one window. In another window he's ordering his attire for the Stark Charity Ball and in a final window, he is roflpwning (yes, he is) a level 80 Night Elf Warrior with his Level 80 Blood Elf Hunter in World of Warcraft. The new expansion is out in two days and he's already ordered his upgrade. He also participated in the closed beta testing and sent over a large list of suggestions on how to improve the game.

Over half of them were accepted.

So it is that he's fighting the same Night Elf Hunter (who he's killed three times already) when anyone looking for him comes upon him.

She took the weapon and cradled it in her arms with expert ease, touching the small button to see it retract. She pressed it again to watch it shift back into a sniper rifle.

"I'd like to give it try," she said. "I've heard good things about your weapons from your team."

"My team gives me a lot to work with, so making things that work for them is easy." Tech says.

"Feel free to test it out and let me know what you think." Tech says.

Her smile was genuinely pleased. "I look forward to it. I'll have it back to you directly. The colonel is impressed by the upgrades you've done with Samantha's sidearms. Would you have time to do some work on his sidearms?"

"Please take your time and let me know of any issues you come across. I'd like to make sure all the bugs are worked out before I submit requests to have them mass-produced for all Agents." Tech says.

"Thank you, ma'am. I can do those upgrades at his convenience, provided the team isn't in the field. Should I contact him for an appointment?" Tech asks, considering if he should show her another of his inventions before she leaves.

"I'll have them delivered to your lab." His availability was a forgone conclusion. Missions came first, even when it was the director. "Then set up an appointment with him for you to demonstrate your upgrades."

She hefted the weapon in her arms. "You will most definitely get my notes, Agent Landon. Thank you for your time today. I appreciate it."

"Anytime, ma'am." Tech says with a smile. He wasn't sure if he'd passed whatever test he was taking just now, but she hadn't fired him so that was good, right?

Valentina left as quietly as she arrived, with a last smile and a mental note to mention how polite the young man was when she spoke to Nick.

Tech breathes a little easier when the boss lady leaves and goes to make sure that the Sammy-Space is still intact.

He also reminds himself to tell Sammy that she looks /very much/ like her mother.
