I'll Duck and Cover With My Yuletide Lover Underneath the Mistletoe (Wild Pack)
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man.

	Kelly sidles up to her girl and feels her up - well, frisks her for weapons, anyway. On finding her concealed sidearm, she replies with a grin, "Private party, but you have your invitation right here. Lucky you. And your present... well, the little one is there under the tree. Kelly returns the kiss, then sits down, reaching out to pull Melissa into her lap.

"No. Its in Westchester. The X-Men arranged a transfer of your sister from medical facilities to their school today. She's undergoing psychic therapy and mutie-power healing for as long as it takes til she's better. We're allowed to visit, under supervision, but I thought it best I stay away, for now, anyway. There's no guarantees, but... she's getting the help she really needs, and will be there as long as it takes her to get better."

Melissa sits on Kelly's lap and feels the day's irritation drain away in an instant. Kelly has that effect on her, opposite the way she makes most people feel.

When Kelly tells Melissa what she's done, Melissa blinks at her as if she doesn't comprehend. She does, but she can barely contain the spark of hope that has welled up in the pit of her stomach.

"You...you got them to agree to help Bree?" Melissa asks, a stunned expression on her face.

"What did they want from you in return?" Melissa asks. They don't know her /or/ Bree, so there has to be a catch.

	Kelly leans into her girl, arms wrapping around her. "I'm paying for her care, feeding and housing. I also turned over a bunch of information on Weapon X to them. "All right, Dad's about to pick me up, but your presents are under the tree, and we're still on for Paris Theodore Day, with Mom, right?"

Under the tree were T-shirts for Kelly and Melissa saying "Judge if you want; we are all going to die. I intend to deserve it." Nicolai got one of those multilayer chess sets, and New Guy got a paperback copy of David L. Robbins's 'War of the Rats'."

Kelly tosses Bea's present at her - and her power warns her just in time how to catch it to avoid an explosion (of tinsel and glitter, admittedly)

Inside the package first is a t-shirt, black, with silver text reading 'Go ahead and keep talking, I'm reloading.' Wrapped in the shirt is a Glock 22 RTF2 pistol, modified to take non-metal rounds so the entire thing, other than the firing pin, would pass a metal detector, and a new gun cleaning kit.

"Of course we're on."
