When Out On the Lawn There Arose Such a Clatter
Christmas. Yule. Saturnalia. Dies Natalis Solis Invicti. Many cultures have celebrated and still celebrate a winter festival. There have been many names for it over the millennia. No matter the name it is a time to come together and celebrate with feasts and gifts with friends and loved ones.

Each culture has a legendary figure who would deliver gifts to children during this time. In Russia and some Slavic cultures he is known as Ded Moroz, Grandfather Frost, and comes not on Christmas but on New Year’s along with his granddaughter Snegurochka, or ‘”Snow Maiden”. In the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe he is known as Father Christmas. In the Netherlands and Belgium he is known as Saint Nicholas or “Sinterklaas” and in France he is known as Père Noël. In the United States we know him as Santa Claus.

No matter the name or who is delivering gifts, it is the season of peace, joy and togetherness. It is the season for thinking about loved ones, friends and those less fortunate. It is a time to witness the goodness and generosity the human race is capable of. It is a time for peace on Earth and goodwill toward man

The Avengers' Mansion was decorated and festive. Inside the Avengers celebrated Christmas Day. Outside there was a flash of light and six time and dimensionally displaced Avengers showed up.

With everything that had been happening in this universe it seemed like everyone capable of feeling out of sorts was feeling that way. With all things considered Ryan decided to do the one thing that Charlie and him had done in every place they had been thus far hit a bar for some drinks.

He had talked to the guy who apparently was his kid in this future which really was hurting his brain and he felt safe to say was hurting the others brains too. But he had found out how to get some of his futureself’s money which he was sure wouldn’t be missed to pay for it since they only had so much more gold and stuff to liquidize for funds.

Ryan went to find Charlie to let him know what was going to be going on.

Charlie was looking out the window, watching the snow fall when he saw Ryan. He couldn't believe that it was Christmas. He had never not been home for Christmas. It felt weird.

"Hey," he said.

Wow Charlie really looked depressed, Ryan thought to himself.

“Hey Charlie,” Ryan said, “I think I thought of something we could do that might make all of this a bit more cheerful. There’s a bar at the Chinese place not far from here I figure we could have a few drinks in honor of the people we are missing and it’s my treat.”

Charlie smiled. "Sure," he said. "I'm fine with some drinks... though we might want to wait after dinner."

“Sure that sounds like a good idea,” Ryan says, “Always smart to drink on a full stomach.”

This was going to be weird usually Christmas dinner ended with his parents sneaking away for alone time during he left the house rather than be in there.
