Meeting of the Minds
Griffen had decided he was going to start ordering parts for new computer upgrades. It wasn't his thing but it had to be done. That was when he had noticed someone was already doing his job for him. That was a little surprise.

He smiled a little as he picked up one of the boxes to check out what was being installed. He gave a low whistle of geek approval as he wandered into the computer room. He looked up and had a moment of surprise.

"Miss Stark?" He blinks again then offers her a smile. "It's good to see you again. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

He doesn't seem as shy as he once was but then again the first time they met was in the middle of a crisis and the next time they were around each other was when the Defenders got called in. Griffen notes that they never really got to talk before.

Anya blushed from the compliment. "Thank you. It's nice to meet you under better circumstances," she said. She was going to stay out of this exchange as much as possible.

Oh it is on! Or not. Griffen's jaw clinches tightly and he goes over something in his head. He tries that counting to ten thing. It doesn't help him.

"I don't prefer men sexually Halbjorn. Nor do I have strong romantic feelings towards people who are younger than me. There are things that are appropriate an inappropriate in Midgar regarding when a man or woman is considered an adult by their people. Anya while mature in mind is not seen as mature in body by the laws and customs of our people. While it's okay to maybe flirt and talk to her there are other things that are not okay." There he said it. Please don't kill him Miss Stark!

"Further more it's actually considered rude to bring up sexual preferences unless someone offers up the information. I'm just not...not comfortable with that. My dating history is pretty terrible and not up for discussion."

Unless he musters up the courage to ask Svalin out to dinner.

Halbjorn blinks. Then he blinks again. Did Griffen perhaps get through to him?

Dream on. "So thou'rt saying thou hast not yet been laid? And at thine age? Well, fear thee not... I am sure there art women of poor reputation and great skill who would be happy to be appropriately gentle with thee. I shalt fund this effort myself. Tis the least I can do for all thou hast done to help us!"
Yes, he earnestly sounds like he's trying to be genuinely helpful.

He turns his attention back to Anya. "Feh, that poor misunderstanding ist behind us, and Miss Rhodes wast a most formidable opponent. I wouldst love to spar with her again sometime. Thy team showed thy mettle most well, and it only raised the esteem I have for thee... though thy current garb compliments thine lovely figure far more than the armor didst."

This is going from bad to worse with booth boots on. She was going to stay out of it, but then came the comment about her not being mature. "It's the boobs isn't it? That's why you think my body's not mature enough?"

She blushed more at the compliment. "I'm sure Toni would like to go another round or two. I wouldn't mind as well."

"It's your age I'm worried about Anya. Sometimes the mind is willing but the flesh isn't," he says dryly. "You don't need to rush things."

Now it sinks in what Halbjorn just said. First he sputters then he just kind of drops like a sack of potatoes. He did not take the idea of some strange woman doing anything to him very well. The loss of any kind of control was the nly end that would happen there.

Halbjorn eyes Griffen with obvious concern. "I am most worried for thee. I shalt consult with mine sister and mayhap Simon to aid thee." he resolves out loud.

His attention shifts back to Anya. "I wouldst find that most enjoyable, to be sure. Indeed, thy company ist most welcome. As for thy body, tis most appealing to be certain. There ist much to be said for a beautiful, athletic frame like thine."

Anya chuckled a bit at Griffen. It was cute that he was so flustered about the subject of sex.

She smiled at Halbjorn. The heat in her cheeks didn't decrease. "I can stay a little longer than planned or we can schedule a visit." More heat to her cheeks. "You're too kind."

For the moment, at least, the worry for Griffen seems to subside a bit. Though no doubt he'll get back to that later. Definitely very concerning.

"I wouldst hope so, the presence of such a beauty ist most welcome. And surely I am not kind enow, for if thou hast any worry for they beauty, breasts or otherwise, surely I must prove all such doubts ill founded before thou canst leave."

He has his reasons and right now he would love to escape right now. He climbs to his feet and brushes off his clothing. He's probably not going to speak up for the next few minutes.

Anya could tell Griffen was uncomfortable and she understood. Asgardians were usually very direct and a person needed some time to get used to them. Time to change the subject.

"Griffen and I were upgrading the computers and cleaning out the one lab. Which reminds me, I ordered some new CPUs and a few new harddrives. They're on back order though. The ones we have are so old they have whiskers. I'll come and install them when they arrive. I should have a new operating system to install by then."

Halbjorn looks between the pair as Anya sets into some strange, alien tongue wikth some English words thrown in. "Ahhh... tis good thou wilt be returning, at least."

"Really? I didn't realize you needed to order new computers," Griffen finally spoke up. He was going to try and eat again but his thoughts kept turning on how to stop Halnjorn from hiring a hooker for him.

He needs to talk to Simon and Syd. He'll make sure that Zoey is busy with Zelbar and Spencer.

"Need to keep the ties between the teams strong," she told Halbjorn. "We should schedule mandatory fun with the two team once and awhile." After what she heard about Disneyland, it was probably for the best that the Defenders did stuff with the Avengers. More powered people to keep an eye on them.

She turned to Griffen. "Not new computers. Just pieces." She wanted to keep the costs down given the current status with the funding.

"Well of course we'll always help each other if we need back up," Griffen says with confidence. He pauses then flounders with his latest thought. He doesn't know how to fight, he can use his shields just fine but fighting is a little past his skill set.

"Halbjorn? I don't know how to fight," Griffen finally comes out with it. While Halbjorn annoys him he's not sure Ohu would teach him anything.

Anya finished off the rest of her food. "That was really good, Griffen." She placed her fork on her plate. "I don't think you are lacking instructors. From what I've seen of your teammates, they are all excellent fighters. One if not more of them should be willing to teach you."

Quite frankly, Halbjorn is aghast. A male, presumably raised as one, who knows how to neither wench nor fight? This is entirely unacceptable.

"Whate'er thy shortcomings, thou'rt my teammate. I shalt see to correcting this terrible wrong myself. I hath promised Anya a goodly amount of mine time whilst she ist here, and thou apparently hast business to conduct with the computers... so the day after she takes her leave of us, we shalt begin thy training. Meet me in the training gym one hour before sunrise and we shalt begin to teach thee a warrior's way."

His childhood might get picked at latter. But to an Asguardian he is lacking in many areas.

"Of course, Halbjorn. Thank you for the training that is yet to come." He will latter wonder what the hell he was thinking. That's four a.m.

He blinks then smiles at Anya. "You're welcome. I like being able to cook for people."

Anya was glad it was Griffen who would be training with the Asgardians and not her. It was bad enough she had to do training with the Black Widow.

"I just need to load up the stuff from the lab, then we can see to that sparring. I flew out here via suit."

"Thou'rt most welcome, mine friend. Tis a pleasure to be able to aid thee and correct this great wrong. Make sure on the chosen day, and mornings thereafter, thou hast five hours free for training before breakfast." he adds, looking back to Anya. "Wonderful. Dost thou require help with the loading?"

Griffen hopes that maybe somewhere in the back of his mind he can pretend to be too tired from training to be interested in learning about women. Of course he might not need to act tired if the insanity of Halbjorn's daily training is the norm, he's sure that will easily have him very tired.

Should Griffen later want to research, there's plenty of video tape of Halbjorn's daily workout. When he's not out too late wenching, which appears to be a reasonable excuse to sleep in a couple hours, its up every day before sunrise, followed by four to five hours of running, jumping, climbing, obstacles, punching bags, weapons dummies, and getting hit with sticks and training weapons to build up. Breakfast, an hour of light weapons training, tactical studies or archery, then four more hours of more direct sparring and combat training, sometimes with Svalin, sometimes alone. Occasionally he spends more time at it when bored in the afternoons.

The joys of being a berserker, all anyone expects you to do is be able to fight and survive, so daily life is pretty much centered around those two things.

Of course, that's if he should choose to research later. Otherwise he might just be in for a surprise whenever Anya leaves.
