Sirens
Sirens went off for the fifth time of the night, less than two blocks from Lisa's apartment in Mutant Town. Not that this was anything new. The recent crime wave, the drug traffic, and just the fact that it was District X meant that something was always going on. Or going down. Deals, hookups, people looking for fixes, college kids looking to dash in and out of the wrong side of town, everything that made the district come alive, and was slowly killing it.

Lately though, it seemed like the death of the area was approaching faster than ever. It was time to start taking action.

She called up her female co-star.

"Mm. I could snack on a telepath to be on the safe side, but I'm more in favor of picking up strength and durability in case I need to hit a panic button. Be ready to do some quality control on our answers." She flips open another address book of 'contacts', licking her lips as she does so.

"I don't think it'll be an issue. We're the pretty ones from X-Factor, remember? People like us."

	"We did well," Pauline said pleasantly. "I liked the way we fit 'In My Backyard' into the set -- I had to be careful, though. As they're on the way over to District X, Lisa briefs her on a few notable points along the area they'll be making inquiries in.

"This is where we need to be careful." She points to one section on a paper map. "If anyone asks you if you're looking to donate, the answer is 'no'. They're social-rings for MGH. Mostly harmless party boys and girls, but if a particularly popular 'strain' makes it to dealers, you can wind up a target for harvesting."

She's dressed mostly no-nonsense for the day. Leather jacket and jeans, along with army boots. The jacket is unzipped enough and the shirt low-cut enough to show a plentiful amount of skin, however. Her backpack has the previously mentioned flash-light, canned foodstuffs to trade with the tunnel-folk, some X-Factor promotional stuff to bribe fans with, and, if all goes south, a taser.

	"Alec Benton, local artist, goes by 'Torcque'. His power is... unique." She points at several bars on the stair-well's guard-rail that are severely twisted. The motif is repeated on the central pillar of the hallway as well. "Makes a living selling to industrial art galleries. I've had coffee with him... once or twice." She clears her throat.
