Three Course Day
Vincent was single this Valentine's Day, but he was determined not to let himself be dragged down by that. To that end, he'd arranged friend-dates with three ladies he was inordinately fond of.

Vincent thinks of how he has known Asleif, and how each of them has changed since then. He thinks of the prophecy Odin spoke of. He thinks of the conflict between Andrea and Asleif.

Then, as much as he has endeavored not to for some time now, he thinks of what will make him happy.

"I can't.. I can't be casual with you, Asleif. I don't want to deliver an ultimatum, but if I were going to be intimate with you, it would have to be as part of a relationship.

Even besides that.." He bites his lip. "Andrea is still my best friend. You said very hurtful things to her when you first met, and I would need to talk to her before entering into anything with you. I don't foresee it as being a major likelihood of her objecting, but I still owe it to her to speak with her first.

I think I'm ready for a relationship again, but with you... that's the only thing I could be ready for."

He takes a breath.

"Can you accept all that?"

A good question, in truth. Asleif, for all her attempts to become a better person, was still very much Asleif, and thought of herself before others. And yet, she was also touched by his words and the depth of consideration Vincent showed.

The clockwork girl? She'd all but forgotten about her. It was over and done and she had moved on to other things.

And all in all...

"Aye. I believe that I can."
