Dinner and People Watching (Friday Night)
Anya was running on time for a change. At promptly 5:45 she was downstairs in the foyer waiting for Iason. She was dressed in a little black dress, heels and her hair done. It had only taken her an hour to get ready, which for her had to be some sort of record.

They had 6:30 reservations at Mesa Grill. Six would have been difficult to make and they weren't in a rush. Mesa Grill should be extremely busy, it was a Friday night and dinner time, and would be a great opportunity for Iason to watch humans. Anya had to drop the Stark and Romanov names to even get a reservation.

She double checked her appearance. She wasn't nervous, she just knew that there would be paparazzi and she always wanted to look her best.

She waited patiently for Iason.

	He considers that, pausing from dancing. "Come on, let's go sit down. I'll get us something to drink. We should talk. We're living in the same place and going to be heroing together... 	Anya let him lead the way. "Vodka, please," she said. She need a good stiff...Bad Brain! "Look, you're always going to be a distraction. Most of us are teenagers and female and you're incredibly hot. Like create a pile of drool on the floor kind of hot. And...." She managed to get that out before what he said at the end dawned on her. He grins at that, leading back to the table and offering an arm to steady her. "Don't think I haven't noticed... I can hear heartbeats and smell pheromones." he admits. "And don't think I haven't noticed the girls either... I have. Its... complicated though. I don't want to get anyone here in trouble. Give me a second to get drinks, and I'll be right back to try and... I don't know. Figure things out a little?" he suggests, heading for the bar to give them both some air and room.
Dancing... yeah, has a way of making distractions worse. He's not gone long though before he returns with two vodkas - something else to try.

He settles in, then watches her down the vodka. He does the same, pondering the taste.
"Welcome. I... don't mean to be any trouble or anything. I appreciate the hospitality. And I appreciate the compliments... its not that I don't find you attractive either... I do, believe me. But there's a few things I need to kind of get sorted out before I think of asking anyone out on a real date or anything."

"You're not any trouble. My hormones are the trouble apparently. I'm usually not like this. I try not to live up to the family reputation." She sighed. "If there's anything I can do to help you get things figured out, let me know. I'm glad to help." A pause. "Not just because I'm attracted to you either, but because you're an Avenger, almost, and we watch out for each other."

He presses his hand to his face again, and once again, impression would be that if he could blush, he would be. He collects his thoughts soon enough though.
"Yeah its... well, on the Eternal side, there's not really any restrictions - we can't really have children unless we want to, and don't carry or catch diseases, so the normal strictures for most cultures don't apply. My father has had a lot of mortal wives over the centuries, you know of Aunt Sersi, who is at least as promiscuous as your dad, and then there's my Mother... she'd really, really like it if I started, well, having flings. But not being a telepath, I still kind of stumble through some of the social interaction elements. I'm never sure how that's supposed to work out, or if someone is expecting more, or what.... and I've probably just made something really simple way too complex, right?"

"I'm far from the expert at relationships or what to expect because of how I grew up. The only thing close to a relationship I've had turned out horribly bad. I would guess the best thing to do in any case, either fling or relationship, would be to talk about the expectations up front. Some people, myself included, aren't the serious relationship type. Others, well some girls are already starting to plan the wedding," she shuddered at the word, "after the first date."

"I got kind of lucky, I guess. I can talk to my parents, especially my dad, and the rules for flings and relationships were set down. I know the rules and what I can and can't do. He expects me to be a normal teenager." She chuckled at the thought of being normal.

He relaxes a bit. "I can talk to my Father about almost anything. On this, he doesn't care. My mother, however, cares passionately about this. Have you ever heard of Her... sometimes also known as Paragon?" he puts emphasis on the word Her to emphasize its a name. "She believes her cosmic purpose as a massively powerful immortal is to be the beginnings of a new super-powered race. So far, I'm her only off-spring. You do the math on her expectations... now, that's not what I want, not right away. But she wouldn't be too happy if I ended up committed anywhere... and I'm not ready for that anyway."
He lifts his head a bit, looking her in the eye. "Now flings, on the other hand, as long as everyone knows that's what they are, are a different matter entirely."

"Eternals aren't known to be the type to pop out babies. I can just imagine the expectations when a parent wants desperately wants to be a grandparent, let alone be a grandparent to a whole race." That just blows the mind. "I got lucky again. Dad can't imagine being a grandparent, I think he'd have a heart attack, and my mother keeps insisting she's too young. Despite she's old enough to be a great-grandma by now."

A slow smile stretched her mouth. "They're fun as long as expectations are clearly stated at the beginning."

He's a lot more relaxed about all this now. "There's a reason for that... we have a lot of control over our forms. We eat, sleep, breathe... because we feel like it. We could stop and be fine. Same way with sex... we don't get tired or fatigued, and we don't have to... well, have children unless we want to. We could, same way we can simulate digestion by transforming things we intake into energy, sort of internally disintegrating them... then turn the excess energy into a blast, or enhanced strength, or whatever later, same way we do with energy we absorb from the atmosphere. There's no real biological function, unless we want there to be. So, someday, when I want kids, and if I find a willing girl, or girls, I can still have lots of them, and unlike most Eternals with mortals, due to her side, they'd probably be powered, like she wants. But I'm not there yet. Flings, and maybe people to have some fun with... go to dinner, go dancing... would be nice."
