Sparring Session
Svalin had seen to Tryggvi and Snowflake as she always did in the mornings around sunrise. She put the two horses out to graze after feeding them. Once she was done she grabbed her Bat'let and went outside on the lawn to practice before the sun got too hot.

The blade felt as comfortable in her hands as Vigfrior did. Svalin could use it with as much proficiency and ease as she did the weapons she grew up with. The air whooshed as the blade moved through the air.

And there it was. Svalin could no more love another man than she could stop being pregnant with her child. Even if Sigurdur was foolish enough to believe that Svalin might someday move on, there was no way he could match up to whoever this warrior had been to her.

"I art sorry that thou time with him wast so short. But...why didst he not come with thee? All fathers should love and cherish their sons." he says.

"He hast his duty and I hath mine," she said. "I couldst not stay with him any more than he couldst come with me. Duty canst be a harsh mistress."

Svalin blinked and came back to the present and left the memory retreat into the back of her mind.

"It wast good whilst it lasted, but it can ne'er be. We loved each other, but we promised to move on with our lives. He wilt always be in mine heart, but mayhap one day I wilt love another."

"Nay, it ist not, but life ist not made to be easy. How else wouldst we rejoice in what we hath before us?" Sigurdur asks.

He takes a moment to breathe in the heady smell of the sea-water and salt.

"I look forward to learning of the heat in Midgard, but I ask that thou tell me when thou wishes to return to the main house. I doth not wish to keep you out in the heat if it wouldst fatigue thee or cause harm to thy son." Sigurdur says.

	"The lady first." Sigurdur says, moving into position to support Svalin as she goes up the stairs. An accidental fall would not be good. Well played, Svalin. You earn a rather big smile from the man and possibly a hint of embarrassed blushing.

"I doth not believe my actions on Midgard wilt earn me mine father's title. Thou continued teasing and jests wilt keep me from becoming grim for a long time yet." he sys, continuing to help her up the stairs.

"I must tell Lady Sarah that the food here ist wonderful. There ist always so much and they hath ice cream as well." Sigurdur says.

As soon as he said it, though, he kicked himself mentally. That would never happen, as his service was to protect Svalin during her pregnancy. It was very likely that he would have to return to Asgard after the babe was born and go back to his duties. Sigurdur doesn't want to think about having to return to Asgard and watching Svalin disappear from his life again.

/That/ would serve to make him Sigurdur the Grim.

"What doth thou wish to eat this day?" he asks, forcing a smile back to his face.

	Svalin smiled. "I wouldst like that. There wilt be many more adventures after mine son ist born and I wouldst like thee by mine side." Svalin liked the idea of seeing him after the baby was born.
