All Hope Abandon, Ye Who Enter In!
Between Marlow and Dawn the Defenders had managed to track the shadow demons who had abducted Svalin to the gates of Hades. Countless shades wandered on the shores of the river Acheron. These were the paupers and the friendless, those who did not possess an obolus to pay Charon.

A small boat floated on the dark waters of the river and the cloaked figure of Charon stood in the boat waiting to ferry souls across the river. A skeletal hand clutched a pole and the other was outstretched waiting to receive a fare for crossing.

On the other side of the river stood a large three headed dog and a large two headed dog. Cerebus and Orthus guarded the entrance into Pluto's realm.

	By the time he gets there, Hal is not at all recognizeable, even to those who know him best. A mass of blood and exposed bone, wielding an equally gore-soaked axe. the scream, however, is recognizable - he forces himself back up on legs that shouldn't hold him, and rushes back at Cerberus, unaware of any other foe just now. 	Cerebus wasn't the only one in the room who thought Hal would make a good chew toy. The hellhounds left in the room went after Hal. Cerebus had had enough of that axe hitting him. He backed away toward Pluto. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	There were two blurs of black that raced by the Defenders at the entrance to the palace and sped into the throne room. One black blur went after a hellhound and the other went after another hellhound. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Halbjorn is unaware of the help - and, indeed, swings the axe at one of the blurs when they get too close - but most of his attention is on the things actively attacking him. Right now, he's unaware of anything but blood and battle, and as far as he's concerned, everything here is an enemy, and he will fight his enemies to their death or his own, even as he's slowly being buried under a press of hellhounds.

	A hellhound was split into two by Hal's axe and another one tried to bite him while Hal was killing the other. The other two were squaring off against Geri and Freki. One of the hellhounds managed to take a chunk out of Freki, but the other made a wrong move and had his throat ripped out by Geri. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Were he focused on just the hellhound, it might be an easier battle - and no question, he's working on killing it, but while he's trying to figure out which of the wolf forms around is the biggest threat, it gets hold of him, teeth digging into bone where there used to be flesh. Right now, helping him isn't much help, aside from limiting how many angles he can be attacked from.

Still, he slashes at the hound attacking him with a wild cry.

	The hound attacking Hal was hit with the axe across the muzzle. Blood sprayed and the thing's muzzle was sliced off. Blood gushed out and a moment later the thing fell to the floor. The one attacking Freki was caught by Geri. The hellhound and the wolf rolled on the floor. Grei caught the hellhound's throat and ripped it out. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Geri and Freki both went after the dazed hellhound in front of Svalin and kept far away from Hal as possible. They weren't strangers to Asgardian bearsarks. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Halbjorn drops the second Hellhound, and despite looking like he shouldn't be moving, looks for the nearest target, going rushing towards Pluto - at least it might draw out more proection, or distract the dark god. (Reply to this)(Parent)
