The Night is Dark and Full of Terrors (Open)
Black Cat is perched atop the building across the street from the club house of the Poison Memories street gang, watching the party going on inside. No guards on the roof, but two at the door taking money and counting heads. Inside, they're having one of their stupid gang-banger parties that no one's going to report, no matter how much the noise is a pain in the ass.

"Cat is in position." she says, watching the entrance.

"Rhino in position."  Rhino says.

"Eye in the sky, in position." Vulture reports over the comm.

"Scorpion is go at this station." Scorpion reports.

"Hit 'em hard and fast, gentlemen. No civilian casualties and save one of the gang-bangers for me. Rose Red wants someone to talk to. You can splatter the rest. Systems go." she says.

Rhino thunders down the street toward the warehouse where the gang is having their party. He doesn't stop when they yell at him and sure as hell doesn't stop when they pull their guns.

He bats aside the door men and smashes into the building, collapsing a wall to shocked and terrified screams.

As people start running, Scorpion bats down a couple of the gangbangers with his tail and zaps another pair as they try to reach for weapons. His suit protects him as a couple get off lucky shots, forcing him to turn and find out where they are.

Vulture swoops down into the chaos and uses his razor wings to slash at a gangster taking aim at Rhino. He separates both of the man's arms at the elbow and the gangster falls to the ground screaming in agony.

He swoops back into night sky to make another pass.

Black Cat counts to ten in her head, then firs her grapnel and swings down into the chaos, sauntering in through the hole in the wall of the warehouse.

The music system cuts out just then as she makes her entrance, looking among the disheveled gang members.

"Knock knock. I guess our invites got lost in the mail, huh?" she asks, looking from man to man.

"You assholes have been wrecking this part of town since you got here. That stops now. For the next sixty seconds, any of you that fall in with me get protected from Rose Red. I'm sure you know who that is.

Anyone dumb enough to shoot at me gets fed to one of my friends outside. And they came hungry." she says.

"Show of hands on who's joining up with the new outfit?"

"You fucking bitch!" yells an Phillipino man from the back of the room, holding a shotgun, which he fires at Black Cat. She launches into a handspring, then vanishes behind a wall.

Alfredo Guzman doesn't take well to being given orders.

"You tell Rose Red to go fuck himself! We ain't bowin' to nobody and if he brings his ass down here, we'll smoke him too!

Boys, shoot these freaks up!" Alfredo says, going after Black Cat.

The rest of the gangers regroup and starts shooting with various semi-automatic weapons.

This type of activity doesn’t stay unnoticed for long and certainly not by Ryan who was on a patrol in the area. Running along the rooftops he made his way towards the sounds of gunfire and fighting as fast as he could.

Jumping off a rooftop nearby and using a grappling hook to slow his fall Ryan got to the ground and started looking at the fighting going on outside trying to figure out where he should start. This reminded him of the violence in the streets he read about while he was gone bad guy vs bad guy.

Vulture notes Ryan's arrival on the scene and communicates with his teammates.

"Uh oh. Looks like we got our first do-gooder incoming. Who wants him?"

"I'll take him. Is it that Spider-punk? I've wanted to kick the crap out of one of those losers for awhile now. Heard he beats the snot out of gang-bangers. Maybe he's got more balls than the old one." Scorpion says.

He turns around and starts looking for the new arrival.

"You boys go ahead and have a little fun. I'm kinda busy." Black Cat says, creeping around the side of the building to look for another way in.

Some of the men inside step through the hole in the wall and immediately turn their guns on Rhino while he's otherwise engaged.

Ryan grabs his knife in his right hand and some crescent darts with his left as he looked around. Yeah he could tell he wasn't winning this by himself though if he fought smart he might be able to turn things around or at less keep things under control till some more people got here.

The big guys seemed to be doing the most damage so Ryan decided to help fight them.

Scorpion looks around sets his sights on Ryan, giving the other man an odd look.

"Who the hell are you?" Scorpion asks, clearly unimpressed by his opponent.

"Amateur night is that way." Scorpion says, point to an indistinct place down the block.

"Run along before you make me violate my parole."

Well Ryan definitely found this guy annoying though he was perfectly fine with people not knowing who he is. He was perfectly fine letting the Starks and Rogers up front there.

"Really I thought since you were here I was at the right place," Ryan says back.

He then throws the crescent darts aiming for his exposed face before turning into a more defensive position.

The crescent darts nearly reach his face before his tail intercepts, slapping them away. Scorpion tries to play it off as though he'd done that on purpose, but damn if this suit didn't still require getting used to sometimes.

"Oh, we got a funny guy, do we? Come on over here and let me rip that stupid grin of your face." he growls, running toward Ryan.

Ok so maybe this guy does know how to use that armor, Ryan thought to himself.

Seeing him charge Ryan holds his ground waiting for him to get closer so that he can jump and evade the attack by going over him and spring away jumping off the back of his head. Maybe even get a good attack on the tail with his knife.

Ryan's leap carries him over Scorpion's head, where he scores with the kick that knocks the man off-balance and causes him to stumble.

His tail, momentarily free of control, lashes out at the first nearby thing in the area...which also happens to be Ryan.

Oh yeah. Right the tail, Ryan thinks to himself midair right before the tail hits him and sends him flying.

The tail strikes him hard sending him flying. Ryan does his best to marginalize the impact with a roll when he hits the ground but that still really hurt.

Ryan slowly tried to get up. His ribs were really hurting.

Scorpion gets his bearings and turns back to Ryan, ready to dish out some pain. His tail slams against the concrete, leaving a massive dent in the ground near Ryan.

"I hope your will is current, little man." Scorpion snarls, reaching out with his tail, trying to ensnare Ryan.

That looks like it would hurt Ryan thinks to himself lets avoid and get rid of that.

Ryan does a kip-up onto his feet and gets into a ready position saying, "I was starting to get worried there but I think someone may need glasses."

One great thing about an Adamantium knife was that there wasn't much it couldn't cut through easily.

Ryan makes a quick slash to cut through the tail.

Scorpion's tail drops to the ground with metallic thunk and flops about for a bit before going still.

Scorpion looks down at his tail in shock, then back at Ryan.

Then he jumps back in further shock as a large shape slams into the ground between them.

The large shape is Vulture, who hits the concrete and lies still.

There is a quickly spreading pool of blood beneath him.

Rhino thought he heard a squawking noise over their comm system while he was busy soaking up gunfire for Black Cat, so he turns around to look at the fight.

Scorpion's lost his tail and Vulture is lying on the ground.

And that guy is just standing there with his knife out.

"What the fuck?!" Rhino yells, staring Ryan down.

"Cat, we got a problem. Scorpion's screwed and Vulture's down."

"Thanks for the update, Rhino. I'm still trying to keep bullets out of my perfectly shaped ass right now, thanks!" she says, dodging behind cover as the gangsters start shooting again.

They had to be out of bullets by now and chanced a peek from her hiding place.

The head of one man erupts in blood and he collapses to the ground. A few of the guys nearby see this and start yelling.

"They got a fuckin' sniper, Primo!" they say, starting to dart for cover themselves.

Two men down, one of them being that annoying bird-man he'd been tracking for the last hour. One of these pieces of garbage was going to lead him to Rose Red.

Then the Punisher was going to clean up New York, once and for all.

Well this was certainly unexpected. Ryan did his best to place were the sniper was. Whomever it was was good and he didn't know who's side the sniper was on yet so better safe than sorry.

Ryan lunged putting something solid between him and the sniper and prepared to deal with the others.

Scorpion isn't stupid enough to stand in the open where he can be shot. He doesn't know who this guy is that cut off his tail, but he'll find out.

The guy who shot Vulture is also on his list.

He dives behind a parked car and hopes this guy isn't as good as he seems as the shots continue to rain down.

Rhino is looking for the shooter, even as the shots bounce off his armored hide. One shot clips his horn and then Rhino sees him on the rooftop of a building thirty feet away.

"Scorpion, get to Cat and get our guy! I'll handle these two clowns!" Rhino roars.

Then he charges the building that Punisher is in, intent on toppling it and driving his enemy to lower ground.

This was supposed to be easy. Superheroes screw up everything! Black Cat thinks.

When the shooting from her enemies stops, she pops out from her hiding spot and runs at them at a sprint, moving too fast for these lowly gangbangers to track. They try shooting, but their shots are wild and off-target.

Cat lunges and running tackles Primo, the leader, rolling across the ground with him. She comes up with her claws at Primo's throat.

"Go ahead, shoot me." she says to his underlings. "Ten to one you kill your boss and manage to wound me. Maybe. But I've got nine lives."

She presses her claws against his throat hard enough to draw blood.

"How many does /he/ have?" Gwen asks.

The Punisher knows he needs to reload, but the charging Rhino (who dresses up like that?) isn't going to let that happen.

He leaps from the rooftop as Rhino smashes into the building, destroying load bearing walls and cracking the foundation. Donovan lands on a car and the breath gets knocked out of him.

He tumbles to the ground and gets up very, very slowly.

Those Rhino guys were a lot tougher than they looked though just as stupid if memory served.

Which meant Ryan knew he had to fight smart if he wanted to take this guy down and not get to terribly injured.

Surveying his surrounds for things he could possible use in this fight he noticed the fallen shooter. That guy was one hell of a sniper if he was any judge though he didn't seem to fit with what the other guys who had been fighting were like and he wasn't a big fan of the deadly force being used.
