Mel had researched, and called Dad and really worked on this. She'd gotten the recipe for a traditional Georgian style of baklava. When it was ready, she haunted the air filtration system and let the scent get everywhere in the base.

	Zviad had been testing the armor in the team's training center when his olfactory system picked up the familiar smell. "Baklava?" He asked himself, confused. There was no way... "Hi Nim! Would you like Baklava? Sorry, no Newfie stuff today. When Mel tried to pamper Nim, she always made Newfie stuff rather than Atlantean stuff. She looked back to Zviad. "Well, when this rendition of Alpha Flight first got started up, I was invited, and... " She fidgets. "...Honestly? Ever since my Mom scaled back her government work, I've tended to get scared that someone will sic CIC on Dad. When we had trouble with the department, they said such horrible things... But I like helping people. And now, though... I know Jordan wouldn't let them do anything to Dad. He knows all that legal stuff really well."

"Yeah. She's not a pacifist, but she was into the non-violent rights stuff anyway." Mel appreciates her grandfather's not being mentioned. "So they went to the meeting; she gave a talk; he served the refreshments; they ended up getting along really well. They're still married. Mom works as an aerobics instructor when there's not the occasional government contract and...." Mel looks away slightly. "Dad's a nurse at the secure wing at Sinai hospital in Toront."
