Fresh air and sunshine (Open)
It was strange that when Svalin first came to Migard she didn't want to be here or stay, but the place had grown on her and now she enjoyed it. She missed it and the people when she was in Asgard. It was good to be home and back into what was now considered normal life.

The sun was just coming up in the east and Svalin was already up and outside. She had seen to Tryggvi and Snowflake and decided to get a few hours of practice in before the other residents of the compound woke. Vigfrior wasn't in her hand, but instead it was at her waist. She had her Bat'leth in her hands and worked through her forms.

	He swings the sword down, not quite as quick as she is, the bat'leth still catching his abs, first blood to her - but blocked enough to not dig too deep. He rolls away from it, swinging the flat of his blade at her hip. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin brought the bat'leth down at an angle to catch the blade. Metal rang loud against metal. Svalin stepped back and lowered her weapon. "Thou attacks with the flat. Why? Mine enemies wouldst not be so kind and neither shouldst thee." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He grins. "Because, thou'rt quicker than I, I knew thou wouldst parry. I wast trying to lock weapons with thee and drive thee downward... and the flat ist better for brute force. 	"Hold back? I wouldst ne'er insult thee so!" he replies, responding to the feint, and taking a firm hit in the side, the blade biting in and her force enough to drive him back a couple steps before he can respond with a backhand towards her head. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	She wasn't expecting a blow like that. It hit her alongside the head and she went to the ground. White spots danced in front of her eyes and she shook her head to get rid of them and the pain. She instinctively rolled to one side expecting a followup attack. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Svalin mirrored his movements. They circled for a bit before Svalin made her next move. She attacked bringing the bat'leth in attacking with one end and then quickly bringing the other up. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He parries the first, but not the second, unused to the unique ways the bat'leth can be used, sacrificing some power for versatility. That lack of power means the wound isn't deep, but definitely another tag. Still, he lunges right through it, trying to bull her back and off balance. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sparring with her brother was a lot different than with most people. He was far stronger than she was and he employed different tactics than most. Svalin only kept up with him by being faster and knowing his tactics. This move was pure Hal and one that didn't catch Svalin off guard.

She bent her knees a little lowering her center of gravity and planted her feet. She lowered a shoulder and let his momentum carry him into her. She raised up in an effort to try to flip him over her back.

	He finally avoids one, smacking the bat'leth's flat with his hand to knock it off course, just scraping his shoulder instead, as he swings his sword for her leg, not using the flat this time. Unable to really turn into the swing, it might not be his most powerful blow, but he's strong enough to still put some force behind it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The force drove the blade into flesh and Svalin grimaced as the pain registered. It was deep enough to cause blood to flow freely. She hopped out of the way, keeping most of her weight off her injured leg.

She shifted one hand down as far as she could on the bat'leth and swung it toward him. There wouldn't be much force behind the attack, but her reach was greater.
