Attack In the Night
Night settled on the city of Cambridge and the activity level in the city slowly died down as the hours of the night progressed. Midnight came and went and the minutes and hours rolled slowly by. By three am there was almost no activity on the sidewalks and an occasional car rolled down the street.

The quiet of the city night was shattered by a loud explosion at the location of 491 Broadway. The explosion sent brick and mortar in all directions and the concussion blast set off the alarms of nearby cars. Men in yellow uniforms with full yellow helmets on poured out of four nearby transports and rushed into the hole in the side of the building created by the explosion.

The men in yellow weren't the only ones who were interested in getting into the renovated firehouse in Cambridge. Another small team had been sent to retrieve a certain device and schematics for it. That team wasn't going in by the gaping hole created by the explosion.

Kelly may not be a serious powerhouse, as superhumans go, but she still bench presses close to a ton. Just enough, she figures -

with Jack, Marcus and a bunch of boxes all tangled up in a big, goopy mess, she throws an adhesive goop grenade into the mix, then approaches the entire thing like a katamari, trying to roll it over the rest of the 'bad guys' present.

Well, technical bad guys. Jack may be currently considering switching sides.

The Shadow caught the commotion behind them and moved behind Glitch. He pushed the other man forward as the sticky stuff caught him.

"Go!" he ordered.

Glitch ran for the stairs and started running down them.

Huh, so, fact #1: she has a giant, sticky katamari ball of two enemies and an ally.

fact #2: There's an enemy racing down the stairs on the way to getting away.

Fact #3: Ok, so she let him get caught, but mostly, Jack seems ok.

Fact #4: The invulnerable guy might be ok, but going down the stairs in a tangled katamari would probably hurt. Possibly a lot.

She pauses. Not ideal for team morale.

Fact #5: Jack ruined her effort to create the first ever Thunderbolts fastball-special... admittedly, a bad guy was the thrower. But still.

Fact #6: Fastball specials are cool.

"What rolls downstairs, alone or in pairs..." she sings... and pushes.

Worst. Teamwork. Ever.

"As much as I hate this moment of my life, I hate you even more!" Guardian hollers back at her, flailing as he tries to get loose, too frustrated to get a handle on his own adhesion powers.

Or his web-shooters, as two lines shoot out, one after the enemy, and one that may end up tagging Kelly as well.

It's just really not his day.

Glitch was bowled over by the big sticky mess that was The Shadow and Marcus. The bouncing down the stairs hurt and there was much pain.

Kelly gets snagged by the strand, and goes skidding down the stairs after them like a mogul skier. Unlike anyone else, there's an audible "Wheee!" as she goes.

Managing to stop herself a little short of the mess, still bound to everyone, so they can't get away from her - she pulls out a couple grenades, hooking her fingers into the pins.

"So, I think I've adequately covered my regard for the health of my teammates, and I have a healing factor... so... do you guys want to surrender to the nice brightly-colored wacky wall-walker sticking to you, or do I pull the pins and see who is fireproof?"

Marcus snorts and works on freeing himself. The idiot wall-crawler's the one that... shot his wad or whatever and got them stuck in the first place. Seriously, how does this woman think the can let go of anything when stuck in the saltwater taffy from hell? Needless to say he doesn't really have much of a say. "Well genius tech boy? Got anything?" he growled to Glitch.

The moment Kelly backhandedly compliments him, Jack's brain goes into spin mode.

"That's right! Behold my genius plan at work, as you are all helplessly caught and at our mercy!"
