Something happened on the way to Comic Con...
Sammy made good on her promise. She flew out to Arizona to meet Tim and go with him to San Diego. She even allowed him to pick out her costume. What she didn't sign up for was the long drive across the desert to get there. For some weird reason she expected them to fly.

She fell asleep immediately when they left before dawn, only to wake up when she sensed the car wasn't moving any longer. It was hot already when she opened one eye to see where they were. Which was nowhere. All she could see was the highway shimmering in the distance and lots of flat land covered with scrub.

Sitting up, she covered a yawn and shook her head awake. "Are we stopping for breakfast? Is there coffee?"

	"The list is done," he said. "There's even going to be a Firefly 10th anniversary reunion. I'm hoping to score Jewel Staite, Gina Torres and Morean Baccarin's autographs and pictures with them." 	That sounded vaguely argumentative to her and she was at a loss to understand why. Maybe that lunch date she'd heard about went sour. Maybe it was because he couldn't fix the rental.
