Attack On New York
Hadelinde was a bit shocked when a future kid, hers no less, showed up and told her of the bleak future. In the future she was in prison as was most of the criminal world. The Avengers had brought peace to the world and there wasn't a place in that world for her or her kind. The main driving force was a future Avenger called Solver Svalinsson, now an infant.

That couldn't stand. The future could not play out that way. She would make sure of it. The Avengers would not win, not as long as she was alive. She had to do something now to prevent that future.

The meteor that had fallen in Texas was the key to changing the future. Her son had mentioned the strange properties to her. In his past the Avengers had disposed of it by flinging it into the sun. Hadelinde had changed that by having her Masters of Evil steal it out from under the Avengers.

It had taken time and the lives of some test subjects, but in the end they had been able to harness the mutating radiation from the rock and get the results they desired. Each of the Masters of Evil's abilities were boosted to higher levels in addition to creating some very strong, almost indestructible mutates. It was time to test the mutates' abilities against the Avengers.

If this test went well, then they could produce an army.

Hadelinde had the mutates teleported to the middle of Central Park. She and the Masters of Evil would be nearby to watch.

Who could miss the muscle heading toward him? Jack couldn't. Especially since he thought he recognized them from a previous fight. All muscle, no brains, but the muscle could hurt.

"Don't suppose you guys can be reasoned with," he said. The billy clubs were familiar and solid in his hands. No sword this time, people got edgy when he wore that into public. Oh well, he'd make do.

The two closed in around Jack and Big Foot took a swing.

Jack ducked below the swing and took his own swing at Big Foot's knee joint.

The blow connected and it caused Big Foot to stumble. While Jack was distracted by Big Foot, Gravedigger came up behind him to try to land a blow.

Jack took the blow to the shoulder and was forced to roll with it. He plowed into Big Foot and came back up swinging. He'd feel the pain later. "I'm a little guy, too. You guys can't even pick on somebody your own size."

"We're going to squish you like the bug you are," Big Foot said as he took Jack's hit and didn't flinch. Gravedigger kicked at the back of Jack's legs.

Jack went forward with the kick, letting the motion take him from between the two. "Bug I may be, but you guys can't date outside your species."

With Jack falling forward Bigfoot tried to punch Jack.

"Hey mouthbreathers," Ariadne shouted as she landed and threw at one of the bulks, the ugly one. A spell hit him hard enough to lift him off his feet and away from the tussle.

"Nice move!" Jack said and came up with the clubs swinging at the other. "Thanks for the assist."

Bigfoot went flying backward into a tree. The tree cracked and splinters went flying in all directions.

Gravedigger was caught by surprise and got caught with a club alongside the head. He didn't go down, but he was momentarily stunned.

"No problem! I got this one," Ari jump-hovered over to Bigfoot, running a deep sleep spell to conk him out in the tree debris. That'd hold for an hour or so.

Jack used Gravedigger's stunned state to swing again. Big guys like that needed a lot of persuasion to fall down.

"Send a little of that magic this way," he grunted between strikes. "We have other bad guys to catch."

The blow hit Gravedigger and his toughness kept him standing. Then came the retreat call from Hadelinde. Gravedigger started to move away from Jack and Ari.

Ari turned to the retreating back and stretched with intent. "You are shrinking, you swear you're six inches tall. You might get squished if you aren't careful," she instructed, fooling Gravedigger's mind into believing the inflicted illusion.
