There's only one magic guy on this team!
In the middle of the Thunderbolt's kitchen, a familiar swirl of blue flame comes out of nowhere and the young mage pops in. He'd come on a very important mission.

Ice cream sandwiches.

A species so rare in this freezer that it was almost extinct. Every single time they'd get more boxes of the stuff, it'd disappear almost immediately. Even the ones he'd specifically labelled with his name on it!

Now to find out if there were any left. The freezer door swings open on its own. There were boxes yesterday surely....

"JACK!"

Martin could never explain or stress how important it was that he had that one possession with him at all times. Without it he was sure he would have gone mad not being safe touching anything. As long as that hat was around, there was something to make him feel normal and less like a walking destructive mess.

His power levels are already spiking like mad and he can feel the seals holding back his excess magic bend and let more leak through. Oddly enough, the rattling gets slower and quieter, but not because it's stopping. It's as if time around them is slowing down and everything shaking is only doing so in slow motion now.

But seeing Jack wearing the hat again is the last straw and something snaps inside Martin. The final almost roar of rage they'll hear from him comes both audibly and telepathically as his hand reaches out.

"Didn't you hear?! I. SAID. STOP!!"

An explosion of bright blue light bursts from his hand and spreads rapidly like a wave, engulfing not only the room they're in, but the whole Thunderbolts HQ.

Time has just stopped.

Still fuming, Martin stomps past the frozen Manny straight towards Jack and angrily swipes his hat back, not even caring if stray magic from his hands hit the other guy. It doesn't hit him just what he's done until he has his hat back in his possession, but when he does he can only stare around at the time frozen mess he's caused.

He lost control. He wasn't supposed to do that. He needed to keep it under control. And now that the others would realize that not only could he not fully control his powers even with the gloves limiting them, but that he couldn't even keep his emotions in check like he was supposed to...well, surely they wouldn't want him around.

Still angry, but now quite ashamed at this lapse, Martin shoved the hat back on his head, low over his eyes, and teleports away in a whoosh of blue flame.

The spell dissipates once he's gone and the crash of objects mid violent rattle falling signify its official end and time starts again.

Martin is holed up in his room at the Sanctum, the anger having mostly dissipated, he's now just ashamed.

So when he feels Bea's, well not presence but he couldn't think of a better word to describe the field she seemed to have around her at all times, he reflexively tries to hide his own mind and presence as best he can.

Though he knows that's useless against her powers.

	Bea finally comes out of meditation, twitching and glancing around a little freaked out as she always does when she's been defenseless, her awareness elsewhere. "He's at the sanctum.
