Night settled over New York and the Baxter Building at Four Freedoms Plaza was quiet.

Or so it seemed.

In the lab of Reed Richards all was not quiet and something BIG was about to happen.

Vincent had been laying on the couch reading when one of his alarm spells first went off, and barely had time to sit up before bugs poured into the room. He tumbled off the couch abruptly as they poured towards him. As soon as he had one foot flat on the floor, he invoked one of his patrons. "Steps of the Messenger!" Hermod's speed enters him, and he's all the way across the room before he could blink.

Once he has his footing, he turns on the bugs. "You're not the worst... but definitely some of the ugliest. Bright One's Shields!" He calls out to Balder, and creates a protective barrier, although not in the traditional manner of around himself. He creates it flat and immediately above the creatures, before slamming it down in a flurry of ichor and chitin. He was inwardly very grateful for the many years he'd been able to study Susan's battle tactics.

There were still many bugs coming though.

	Though some of the bugs are crushed under the barrier, more stream in and replace them as if there had been no effect. They begin swarming towards Vincent, covering the walls as they go. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"This is just vile..." Vincent hisses under his breath. There's no-one else to defend here, and he's not about to make some sort of last stand by himself. With just enough breathing room due to the dash and smash he already pulled, he casts a teleportation spell. (Reply to this)(Parent)
