Newspapers flew about the living room then burst into angry blue flames, any loose objects in the room seemed to rattle, and Martin was looking at the TV like it was going to be his next victim. Too bad it was a wall mounted one.

He hadn't seen Dr. Strange in a while. That wasn't too odd in itself, after all he did often have things to do that took time, but it'd been longer than usual and even Wong hadn't heard anything. Up until this point, Martin had only been worried because it'd been so long and Dr. Strange had promised to teach him certain spells as a birthday present. But his birthday had come and gone and no Dr. Strange was around. So Martin had been spending his time at the HQ feeling a little dejected.

Of course, that was until he saw the news.

Liars! They were nothing but LIARS!!

Dr. Strange was The Greatest! He was Sorcerer Supreme! Did people not know what that meant?! He'd never ever do the stuff they were claiming. Never! How dare these people talk nonsense and slander about his mentor? How DARE they?!

Martin stomps off to the training room to unleash a little.

"Oh, those sort. They're not real magicians," he says while the blue butterfly gets surrounded by a blue bubble and finally caught. "Well I'm a sorcerer, Manny's a wrestler, you're a kicker...and a thief too I guess, and the others...I'm not sure. But superheroes have rules and stuff they're supposed to do and not do and I think we've all broken some of those rules."

	He laughs from his perch on his magic disc. "So you think," he says in Latin. There's a pause and then he looks down at her. "Just so you know, I don't have anything you'd like to steal. He vaguely recalls a saying something along the lines of no honour and thieves. But ah well.

"Okay, because my hat bites now." As a demonstration, he tosses his hat into the air where teeth spring from the lining and the hat begins to growl and snap as it hops along the ground. "And I've got other magic defense spells on stuff but that's different." The hat hops towards Martin and jumps back on his head, back to being an innocent magic hat. "That's good you don't though. Because Bea would know right away. She knows everything."

	"That's cool. Practice is very important. I do it every day, I'm trying some new spells now and I'll need to test them more before I can try them in a fight. Sometimes they blow up in your face." "I'm always working on spells! Right now I'm kind of trying one to deal with bullets." As he explains, the blue bubble with the butterfly floats in between them. There's a slight pause as he stops talking to mouth the incantation needed. His eyes glow briefly blue and the bubble disappears.

On the surface it looks like he simply time froze the butterfly like his usual spell. Except this time there was no seal that appeared on it, and upon closer inspection...the butterfly was actually moving. But it's wings were flapping in such slow motion it looked nearly motionless. "It's like the time freeze but more control needed. And instead of stopping an object, it works on an area and slows time down a lot. I was going to use it if we ever jumped in a gun fight again because I'm not invulnerable. I'd have to refresh the spell every so often though. Still working on that."

"Oh wait! Try punching me to prove it! It actually does work!"

Martin just smiles pleasantly and doesn't move. It seems like the punch is going to hit him until her fist gets within a foot of his face. Then it seems to stop. Except it hasn't really, her punch is still moving forward, but at such a crawl it's hard to tell.

"See? It works!" He floats aside and the moment her fist is out of that one foot radius of him the spell is working on, it speeds up back to normal and hits thin air. "I'm working on making the field a little bigger. It's hard though," he admits.
