Lunching out (Backdated a bit)
"Manny? Are you free for lunch?" He'd been showing up to HQ more since the whole therapy thing suggested he should. But he still needed to get out of the HQ for some fresh air and he needed someone to come with him if he wanted to eat out. The Sanctum was currently being used for whatever serious business Dr. Strange was dealing with, which meant that he couldn't stay over there. "We can stay in the city I promise! I can't go for lunch by myself..." He hoped the older guy would agree, Manny was nice and Martin figured he'd be good lunch company.

There's a slight flinch on reflex when Manny makes contact but he's too busy rubbing his eyes to keep everything in to move away. "I-I just...I don't know what I'd do without magic..."

Honestly, he liked the lack of mundane things in his education. He only had the sort of practical everyday knowledge of those things that the average 10 year old had. Besides, that sort of thing reminded of his old life. Which in turn reminded him of how'd he lost all that and it really was his fault. It was better to be a bit naiive and cheerful about his powers than the alternative of always remembering the other side of them. It made a good defense mechanism.

"I don't want to lose everything again Manny...," he sniffs and rubs his eyes more. "C-can we talk about something else?"

	He instantly seems to brighten up considerably at the mention of Marlow. "Oh! Marlow! You should meet her one day! She's the best and does the best illusions. Talk of Marlow and magic had him babble on for a bit. "She's a lot of fun, and very nice and smart! We go on demon hunting adventures together and she made a car with a DPS in it. It's like GPS but to find demons not places. It's nice having her around because we have fun, she gets the magic issues and looks out for me. She even helps me with spells or fixing things I screwed up with magic accidents. Oh, and she gives excellent hugs. One day I'll make sure you meet her."

Manny had found the perfect topic to cheer him up and distract him for now, Martin finishes off his milkshake once he takes a pause. "I like having a sister. I didn't used to."

But now she's with the Defenders here. And when Clea would visit and they'd send us on long errands for stupid things, I got to hang out with Marlow so it wasn't as bad." 	Martin notes Manny look around and does so himself, wondering what the older guy had seen. Maybe their food was coming. "Hell?" Martin manages to hold back any giggles and just look amused. The food comes and Martin cheers up even more. He'd been getting hungry. "Don't worry, there's still Hells but that's not the Dark Dimension. I've been to a couple before. And there are hell-lords and they all call themselves Satan so people think there's one big one but really there isn't," he explains in the same way one would casually talk about the weather or their house.

He'd been young enough when first exposed to these things to adapt quickly to the weirdness. The subsequent few years of being isolated in a world of magic made it all seem more normal than going to the movie theater to him. Hell was just a sort of dimension to him.

	"I only visited of course," he clarifies as he looks around to make sure nobody is watching them. When the coast is clear the burger floats up to his mouth and Martin takes a bite as he drums his fingers against his hat in his lap. "Do what's wrestling like? I've never seen it before." "Si, si I'm fine," Manny assured.

"Well, professional is essentially an athletic, performance art. It's original idea was to to give the appearance of competitive fighting mixed in with story to entertain people. Te matches themselves however were often planned ahead of time, but only the guys in the back and the wrestlers knew the outcome. That way they could keep the people in suspense. In UCWF, there was less story and more fighting, plus the fights' ends aren't planned."

	"Okay." He checks again before letting the burger float up. This was less about being careful and more about not wanting people to stare at him eating. It was embarrassing, especially since his tk wasn't always so steady. "I like the UCWF one better. It sounds more interesting, and like a real fight. Did you do that one?"
