Midnight Munchies (The Family Version)
In the Life According to Wong, young sorcerers are known for two things. Misbehaving magic and the inability to stay full for very long.

Correction - three things. The worst timing and problems with boundaries of all sorts.

All right, so that's four. Young sorcerers weren't big on logic.

It was the second reason that had Marlow up in the middle of the night checking her tiny kitchen for chocolate or pretzels, or even kale chips if it stopped her stomach from rumbling. She tried to be quiet so she wouldn't disturb Martin in the guest room. It looked like they'd managed to clean everything out of the cupboards during their movie marathon.

"I met her at that end of the world thing. Never tried her portals though because I can teleport myself, but they seemed very good, and very stable, from what I saw." At the mention of Nick, Martin pipes up and grins over at Marlow. "Maybe we can invite him on an adventure so he can see that family is fun? Oh and yes, do you have a cat too? Marlow has kittens, we're putting spells on their collars."

	"That wouldn't be right," Marlow told him solemnly. "You don't spell another person's pet unless the pet is in trouble and you need to help it. 	"I have a purple guinea pig who used to be a sort of bad guy but not human...like an engineered one. That exploded when it got hit too hard. 	"Cool. My mom never let me have a pet. So we just have the one cat here. Yeah YC very nice still a cat though. Sister's boyfriend has a really cool dog he's big and surprisingly smart." 	"What's YC stand for?" Martin has to ask before they leave. "And yes, we'll bring cat treats especially!" Because he had no idea what mead was like and if they had ice cream they might not have come in the first place. Right over Martin's head too. All he notes is that it's an odd but interesting name.

Unable to safely shake Eric's hand, he takes off his hat to the guy. "Nice to meet you Mr." Before they teleport out he has to turn to Marlow and whisper his question. "If it's good can I try the mead? I've never had any." Okay, he actually had zero idea what mead was other than made to consume, but Marlow said it was good so he should at least try he figured.
