Moving Meditation (Hal)
When Svalin needed to think she headed to the training room. Smashing and killing things, in a sense, helped her clear her mind. When she was fighting things she blocked everything else out and focused on the task in front of her.

Halbjorn frowns. He hadn't realized things had gotten to quite that state with them. Granted, he's not exactly the most socially perceptive or empathic of people. Still... he glances at Svalin, then back to Vernique.

"A beginning then. And naught but that... but an opportunity, e'en so, that my sister mayst seize in time. I am sorry if I hath vexed thee, good Vernique. Mayhap mine mother wouldst be good source to speak to both of thee? She knowst far more of keeping harmonious home, and communicating between wife and warrior, than I."

And Vernique manages to smile a little, relieved. "That's good to know, hon, thanks."

It wasn't all Hal's obliviousness. Things had been getting a little better again, but Vernique's become extremely sensitive to the cues of Svalin Won't Be Listening Today; She Has a Line to Tow. Perhaps too much so, hence her fear of starting this conversation yet again herself, or just insisting on taking her out personally sooner.

"Yeah. Starting is good, Hal, thank you. And talking to your mother sometime might be the right thing to do."

A breath. "You know I love you both. Maybe... try to cut down on the concussions the next time?"

Halbjorn is well aware how fun sparring is, even if its a pale shadow of real combat, and holds little to no risk of death. Its still better than a lot of things. But no, it most certainly doesn't count, and he'll hold Svalin to that.

"I merely set the terms, tis thine wife's choice what entertainments thou'rt to see to. Mine own part in this ist done... now I must need set mine sights to recovery enow to attend the premiere of mine new movie but a month and a half hence."
