One of a Kind
The Collector was always searching for unique and unusual items to add to his personal collection. He had numerous worlds filled with items he had collected over the eons. His attention had wandered away from Earth for awhile, but that changed. Now something unique caught his eye and he was determined to add it to his collection.

He landed on the front porch of the Defenders' compound. He blasted the door into oblivion and walked into the building.

"Doth thou need a hand," Aridis asks Kael. She wanted to help carry Brandyr to her sister should Kael not be able to do so.

Halbjorn is in no place to help with the injured. Now that he knows, somewhat, who is responsible for this insult, he's pacing like a caged animal, waiting for his sister to come up with something.

Marlow waited for answers to come, knowing that if she stayed quiet they would continue to talk freely. Then there would be something to do to get Solver back.

Kael easily picks up Brandr, not worrying about the man's dignity. "Thank you Asleif, but it's no trouble." Kael carries Brandr over to Svalin. "Do we know anything of what this Collector is capable of? I have read of the Elders of the Universe, they are mighty beings. It would perhaps be best to retrieve Solver and leave quickly. Better to seek retribution when the prince is safe."

As soon as Brandr was close enough Svalin put her real hand on him and prayed to Odin that her healing magic would work. It wasn't always reliable.

Brandr's left side and arm are a bloody mess from the close range blasts that left flesh seared and bloody. The same for his back. There are other injuries from being backhanded into the wall a few times but it's the blasts that have done the most damage. Regardless of how well it works, some healing magic is better than none, and clearly needed in this case.

"Obviously, getting Solver back is all that matters," Vernique says quietly. "But that doesn't mean there isn't going to be a fight. He's probably not going to leave him where he can be snuck out."

Asleif honed her spell further, opening a rippling viewing window in the air.

"I think... I may have something..."

"Canst I find him?" Asleif asked. She would have laughed, had not the situation been so serious, but she was smug all the same.

"Of course I can."

She held up a hand and a sphere of light appeared within it.

"'tis too far to transport through magics... But this shalt lead us there, if we can make our way through space."

"The Quinjet ist likely the best option. I doth not favor the idea of waiting," Aridis adds. Time isn't on their side as far as she is concerned.

She somberly stood by her companions, no wisdom to offer. She knew well the stories of the Elders of the Universe. "This is a most perilous quest..we must make haste."

Halbjorn is already stalking towards the quinjet, trusting in his sister's ability to find Solver - then he'll do his job.

Svalin's healing magic could only do so much with the wounds but it had stopped the worst of the bleeding and brought the swordsman back to consciousness. "I wilt go with thee, Lady Vernique," he said grimly, pointedly ignoring the elf's words.

His left side would still be rather useless but his legs were largely fine as was his sword hand. That was more than enough for him. He had failed his duties, there must be repercussions for that, but now he'd do anything to do what he still could for his duties, and salvage both his honour and his family's. For him there was no distinction between duty, family and honour. To do his duty would bring him and his family honour, to fail in it would fail them too. And to put any of them before his duties would also be unheard of and they wouldn't have it. Mother especially.

So yes he was going to go. If it led to his death that'd be far better than to stay behind with some Midgard healer.

"Okay. No time to fight about it. You're going to rest, mind, but maybe better not to wait for the doctor to get here." And Vernique shakes off her own injury, checks her gun, and heads for the Quinjet as well.

A foolhardy willingness to throw oneself into danger no matter the cost? It would appear Brandr was no different than the vast majority of Asgardians. Asleif occasionally wondered how any of them managed to live for as long as they had.

She followed the others, her guiding sphere trailing beside her.

Foolhardy to some, but he wasn't doing it for adventure or glory. It was his duty to protect the royal family, even more so once he'd joined the Crimson Hawks. His life was meant to be forfeited before seeing harm come to any of them, and right now he was going to fulfill his duties and protect the young lord. He'd failed once already.

"Thank you milady," he bowed his head to Lady Vernique as he staggered up, using his sword to help him get up, to start making his way to the ship.

Svalin put a shoulder under Brandr and helped him to the Quinjet. Longer contact with him will heal him a little more. She was also worried about him.

Kael muttered to himself, sharing a look of understanding with Asleif before joining the others. He did decide to keep in mind that he had lifted Brandr like a newborn babe for future mocking purposes.
