Well, that'd been a fun little jaunt uptown. Here was hoping it would put some ideas in the girl's head that his new buddy could make use of. Or not. Maybe it wasn't that kind of story. And of course, the Thinker hadn't been able to take down Alpha Flight. No harm, no harm. All just interlude. Just softening up.
But waltzing up to a base in the middle of nowhere, of course, isn't Zeb's style. Too vulnerable, not enough leverage. So he's in town, cozy in a restaurant he's properly taken over, having analyzed a few choice haunts, keeping an eye out for any of Kara's girl's little friends.

He dialed the phone.

	While Aleron's room wasn't the nearest room, he'd been in the hallway not too far away and heard the commotion and the alarms starting. The destruction kicked up dust and debris so it was hard to be sure what he was seeing. "Andrea? What is it you are shooting at?" He shielded his eyes from the dust clouds being blown about now. His eyes went wide and he dived right, out of the way and into the next room, while he created an intense centre of gravity off to Andrea. It'd work to veer her shots off to the left and perhaps pull her too. Then he set off the alarm from the room's controls and used the intercom to alert the others. "Something has happened to Andrea. She has opened fire on the residential floor, and on me. I do not know the cause but backup is needed."

	The gravity distortion worked for a moment, throwing her initial shots off course, until her own anti-gravity units, usually used for flight, kicked in. She continued to fire, deploying additional weaponry. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

So he couldn't send her off course. But ammunition shot at him was fair game even as she re-calibrated trajectories. So while he stays low and makes a run for it, he creates multiple gravity points. Popping them in and out of existence took concentration, but he needed to keep up the unpredictability if he was going to continue successfully diverting her shots. Though he sets up a few along the way so that the shots will hit parts of the ceiling above her. If he did it right...a good chunk of it should fall on her.

He had no illusions that something like that would keep her down. He just needed to buy time until the others came and could figure out what was wrong here.

	Andrea did not respond, seeming far more robotic in her movements than before. When her blasts bounced off the force field, she turned and fired upon Val as well. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

While he was grateful for Val's help, and gave her a thankful smile and nod, he couldn't be sure if she had a force field up or not. So he ran over to pull her behind him and the force field she'd created around him.

"I'm not sure what has gotten into her...Do you know of any way to stop her?" He explained hurriedly, still creating varying gravity centres to mess up Andrea's shots and have her constantly devote some power to adjusting her anti-gravity units to the changing gravity about her.

There is a bleep-bloop sound and a recording of Kristoff's voice begins speaking from the building's system.

'The readings of certain prolonged energy signatures indicate that Awesome Andrea has been compromised in some way and is a danger to herself and others. Her shutdown keyword must be activated. Unfortunately, for her safety, I have programmed the same word I cannot speak myself, but it is a mythological term, the closest Greek equivalent to Jormungard."

Thank God for Kristoff. No, really. Franklin wasn't the brightest member of the Future Foundation, but he'd been educated by many highly intelligent people. Kristoff was one of those people.

"Jörmungandr," Franklin repeated quietly, quickly mulling over Greek mythology he knew. Jörmungandr was Norse, but it's closest Greek equivalent would have to be...

"Ouroboros!"

	The firing suddenly stopped. Andrea's eyes rolled back in her head as her arms dropped to her sides. Her body went rigid and then she fell backwards, hitting the floor with a loud smack. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
