Scavengers
There's a sound of breaking glass as a body comes flying out the front window of a butcher shop, shots following it. Someone, or something, apparently wasn't expecting the owner to be there overnight. A large but lithe body bolts down the sidewalk and into an alley.

	Kalypso was running errands for her mother (as always) after classes were done for the day when she heard screaming coming from down the street. She dropped the bags she had been holding and flew down to investigate. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Inside the alley, hunched down, there is a very furry, vaguely humanoid figure. It has a rack of ribs clutched in it's upper limbs, tearing into it with it's jaws. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The thing turns around sharply, fixing feline eyes on Kalypso. A growl billows up from the back of it's throat. It's not an aggressive growl, for anyone who's dealt with wild animals before, it's a 'I am hungry and not sure if you are a predator cornering me' growl.

The creature has matted beige fur, and mostly catlike features, but distorted by size and mixed with anthropoid structure.

	The creature tried to dodge, but was struck by the blast, being forced back into a trash-can. It then dropped the ribs and scrambled back to it's feet, leaping up to a fire escape. It was a clumsy, flailing sight, but it seemed to be making it's way towards the roof. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The cat-beast takes off across the rooftops, letting out a shrieking yowl as it bounds deftly from roof to roof. A few moments later, from somewhere not too far away, two responses ring back. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The beast is tagged, and it stumbles, scrabbling over the edge of a building as it winds up hit mid-stride. It yowls, clearly frightened, arching it's back as it seems to reduce in size again. Two other creatures, larger and bulkier, slightly more humanoid, converge, taking positions in front of the first one. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Dammit. She didn't want to have to destroy these things. She didn't think they were Deviants and they could be some poor helpless mutants stuck in that form. The one she was chasing got smaller. Interesting. The other two were vaguely humanoid. This could be something she could use. She reached out with her mind and ordered them to stand down and stand still. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The larger creatures seemed to shrink slightly, letting the human approach them. No, seriously, they were getting smaller. Still more altered than the female, but closer to normal cats. One of them stretched it's neck forward, examining her carefully, as the other checked the wounded one. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
