I Could Have Danced All Night
The grand ballroom of the Four Seasons Hotel on 57 East 57th street was festively decorated for the holidays. A series of lit candles on every table gave off warm light and the dulcet tones of a jazz ensemble filled the room.

People, the upper elite of New York society, Hollywood celebrities, musicians, politicians and New York’s own superheroes moved around the room. People sat at tables and talked, while some moved gracefully around the large dance floor.

Tables loaded with unwrapped and unopened toys lined one wall and at one end stood a very large decorated Christmas tree. Wrapped presents sat under the tree, but they were just empty boxes wrapped for decoration. Mistletoe hung from the ceiling near the tree and people stopped to kiss.

The air was light and the mood happy and festive.

James was so out of his element at things like this. He went because Mom and Tony expected him to go, but he'd rather be at home playing his games. Though he had told Valeria he'd meet her here and he wasn't going to let her down.

James brought a Nintendo DS and three games to go with it and placed it on the table with the other toys.

He then went to look at the decorations on the tree.

"Hey," Valeria said, walking up to him. She placed her own gift, the complete set of Harry Potter novels, on the table before going off to find James. "You look nice." She was going to avoid bringing up the kiss. For now, at least. He'd seemed a little...embarrassed after it anyways. She was in no mood to make a fool of herself just yet.

On the bright side though, if she did make a fool of herself, she was going to look pretty damn good doing it.
