Family Affairs, part 1.
He'd just gotten into New York yesterday -- after a little more Balkan agitation; couldn't let it settle -- and things were already going so well.

It took a bit of care slipping into the Stark Inc building as Scott Lang, disabling the cameras in Lang's office -- thank you, Mr. Dillon -- and thoroughly trashing the place before slipping out, but T'g'rt managed.

Before the fallout could come from that, he left the following voice message from a payphone in Queens, just a stone's throw from Riker's.

" 'Awesome Andrea'? Really? Not even an attempt to be subtle? Or are you trying to fit in better by being as obvious as possible? What must people think, if they think at all? Speaking of thinking, how do you feel about family reunions? Be seeing you."

Now to sit back and let things simmer for a while.

	Vincent walked into the common area, tossing his school bag on the couch, before noting Andrea's stillness. It was a subtle difference from her usual sitting-and-thinking, but he picked it up immediately. "Andrea? You seem affected by something." Shifting a little closer to her, Vincent furtively reached for her shoulder. "Andrea, I can understand your sensitivity... it's not as if I don't have my own lineage problems, but we can protect you." He fixed his usual confidence in place and smiled.

"First off, there's me. And 90% of the time, me would be enough. Magic usually fares quite well against those who only ascribe to science." He grins. "Secondly, you're a... dare I say, fantastic warrior and cunning mind in your own right. Third, there's Kristoff, who has a, while not staggering, impressive intellect himself, and his armor to cover the gap. Fourth, if all else fails, Cassandra can punt him across the East River."

He squeezes her shoulder gently, enough to dimple the synthesized skin he devised for her, but not enough to feel the metal beneath it.

	Strange. Andrea detected a slight change in her system at Vincent's contact, a slight rising of internal temperatures and a slight irregularity in her primary fuel pump rhythm. 	Vincent nods and flashes her a smile. "So, shall we prepare the defense systems, or refuse to give in to scare tactics and find something enjoyable to do?" 	Andrea considered this. "I do need to do some clothes shopping," she said, after a moment. "I require several more formal items and some additional casual items as well. 	Vincent almost winced at that, one eyebrow briefly flickering. "Yes well... that new anti-thermal expansion foam I developed did work very effectively.
