Family Affairs, part 1.
He'd just gotten into New York yesterday -- after a little more Balkan agitation; couldn't let it settle -- and things were already going so well.

It took a bit of care slipping into the Stark Inc building as Scott Lang, disabling the cameras in Lang's office -- thank you, Mr. Dillon -- and thoroughly trashing the place before slipping out, but T'g'rt managed.

Before the fallout could come from that, he left the following voice message from a payphone in Queens, just a stone's throw from Riker's.

" 'Awesome Andrea'? Really? Not even an attempt to be subtle? Or are you trying to fit in better by being as obvious as possible? What must people think, if they think at all? Speaking of thinking, how do you feel about family reunions? Be seeing you."

Now to sit back and let things simmer for a while.

Vincent nodded and reclined in his seat, enjoying the open air flight in comfortable silence for a bit. Silence wasn't something that came easily to him in general. He always felt like he needed to be the loudest voice in the room, except around Kristoff and Cassandra, who were family, and thus it was just amusing to be louder.

And except around Andrea, for some other reason he couldn't pin down.

	Silence was comfortable for Andrea. Conversations were often awkward for her, so she did not mind it in the least. Especially around Vincent, for some reason. Her own systems occasionally behaved around him the way HERBIE behaved around her. She wondered if there was some kind of correlation. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	They arrived at the mall soon enough, and Vincent hopped over the door and out of the car as it was landing, still a few feet up. He walked around to open Andrea's door for her as the car touched down, a cocky grin fixed in place. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Vincent shrugged casually, but smiled and didn't refute the compliment. "I manage." He shut the door and set the car to hover several feet off the ground. Works a lot better than just locking the doors or ignition. He offered her his arm and gestured towards the entrance, rather enjoying this play at chivalry. For some reason. Vincent curled his lip slightly. This was normally the part with a girl where he showered them with compliments regardless of the outfit. Andrea however, was different. She was his friend, possibly the only one he could call a true friend.

"I don't think that's you, the yellow of it anyway." He tilted his head. "You generally look better in earthtones, monochromatics, or reds."

	Andrea considered this, before she nodded. "Yes, I think you are correct." She returned again to change, though in her haste, she must have missed latching the door. Vincent's eyes widened and he very nearly uncrossed his legs to sit up in his seat. After waiting perhaps a bit longer than he intended, he coughs loudly into his fist.

"Andrea..."

Perhaps it was best he kept his legs crossed, and remained seated.

A wolf-whistle from somewhere a few feet further off caused Vincent's head to snap in the direction of the sound, shooting the neanderthal in a sports jersey a venomous look that sent him cowering and shuffling off in a hurry.

"Hmm?" Andrea said, before turning around. "Oh... oh!"

She pulled the door tightly shut behind her, making certain that it was locked, detecting several abnormalities in her basic functions as she did so, including a distinct rise in overall temperature and a fluttering in her fuel pump.

Did he see me?

...

...What... what did he think of what he saw?

Where did that thought come from?

	It had taken the fullness of that minute for Andrea to assume manual control over her autonomic functions and restore her functionality to where it should be.
