New Years
The beginning of a New Year, a time for new hopes, new experiences to come. A time to reflect on times past, remembering fond memories happily and trying to put less pleasant thoughts and experiences in the past.

It is a time of renewal, a time of rebirth. And for much of the world, it is a time of celebration. This is no less true for the super hero set as anyone else. If anything, they just have that much bigger of things to look forward to.

More Avengers/Defenders

Anya loved New Year's. In her family it was just as big as Christmas because Russians gave their presents on New Year's and not Christmas. They would do the family stuff during the day tomorrow, but on New Year's eve they spent it with loved ones and friends.

Anya wasn't sure what Steve had planned, if anything, but there was a few hours to kill at the mansion before being at her boyfriend's mercy. She was passing by the tree when she saw gifts and she stopped to check them out. She was surprised to find one addressed to her.

Cautiously she picked it up and started to unwrap it.

	Though there is no 'from' on the box, its with the other things the Defenders left, and Anya's name on it looks like it may have been written by a six year old. What's inside is /definitely/ not from a six year old however. Even Steve would admit, this was probably the least-troubled relationship he'd ever had. Even if you counted the "Anya kidnapped by SHIELD" thing or one extremely awkward breakfast at the Stark house after...

He'd been reasonably certain Anya's mom was going to poison his breakfast and quite relieved to find she hadn't.
