New Years
The beginning of a New Year, a time for new hopes, new experiences to come. A time to reflect on times past, remembering fond memories happily and trying to put less pleasant thoughts and experiences in the past.

It is a time of renewal, a time of rebirth. And for much of the world, it is a time of celebration. This is no less true for the super hero set as anyone else. If anything, they just have that much bigger of things to look forward to.

	Very clearly, and very well worth it. The house is also a big place. By the time the kiss breaks, while far from dragging her off, he isn't pulling away, and asks with his gaze if she might want to take this somewhere a little quieter. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	He's not usually the sneaky or discrete type, but this is one of those areas where he understands taking some care. He lets her slip off first, and meanders after a reasonable time later. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Tis mine job to give mine blood and life that others mayst live and plan in the service of Asgard. E'er proud I am to serve, but a wife, a family, peace, e'er wilt these things be denied me. I live each day as if tis my last, and most honored I wouldst be, if indeed mine end came tomorrow, to spend mine last eve with such a lovely woman as thee."

When she smiles, there's more to it than just being right in her estimation, or appreciating the lovely compliment. Vernique has often listened, with affectionate frustration, to her father's ranting, also with affectionate frustration, about heroism, or, as he said 'giving it away for free.' While she was certainly no stranger, raised among the Avengers, to zest or heroism, it was always interesting to see someone with such obvious joie de vivre willing and eager to give it all away for free.

"Halbjorn," she said completely sincerely, "I like the way you think."

And a fun time between new friends was had.
