In general, Lavinia thought Rider was a dick. She had pretty much as long as they'd been friends, and they'd been friends for a long time. He'd never really treated Pyxis the way she -- anyone in any kind of relationship -- deserved to be treated. He had at least texted her to tell her he and Pyxis had broken up.

Lavinia showed up at Pyxis's house, even if it was kind of late, with a bag of comfort food and also some booze. She'd never done the breakup thing before. She wasn't sure what Pyxis would want. She walked into Pyxis's room, past the hall of sheets, into her bedroom, and gave her a sad smile, holding up the bag of treats and whiskey bottle. "I heard."

"Walden and I are friends now. Or something." Pyxis admitted, glancing at Lavinia. She chewed at another gummy bear, then sat up to undo the lid on the wine bottle. She got her army knife from beside the bed and opened the cork screw, then shrugged.

"He's really nice. He's got this really dorky, kind of chunky friend named Dudley Dursley. Who would do that to their child? He gave me a cat." She pointed at the kitten, dawning a flowered collar, perched on her dresser. "Ser Loras."

Lavinia looked at the surprise kitten and grinned. "Oh my God, he's adorable," she said, sitting up again so she could get a better look at him. "I want to be friends with Walden. I want a cat."

She looked back at Pyxis. "You went and visited Walden and met his friends?" And he'd given her a baby animal? Lavinia was a little suspicious, even though she didn't want her suspicions to be accurate. "So... you're just friends?"

	Pyxis looked back at Lavinia for a moment and then nodded. "Yes. Just friends." She told him with a shrug. "I went to celebrate with him because we both got accepted to a fancy school." But, she couldn't lie to Lavinia. She bit her bottom lip. "I slept with him. Twice. But, he's really into Romy. Just like everyone else." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"You got in?" Lavinia grinned at Pyxis, even if this was supposed to be a time of mourning for her relationship with Rider. Lavinia hit Pyxis's arm lightly. "I told you you'd get in. All those times I forced you to study with me were worth it."

They had other stuff on their plate now too. Lavinia sighed when Pyxis said she'd slept with Walden. Pyxis loved men. "Everyone else isn't into Romy. Boys who fall for her crap are into her. And if he slept with you twice, he can't be that into her. What's he like?"

"Yes. I got in. I posted it on tumblr." Pyxis stuck her tongue out. "Wench. Read my blog more often or I'll stab you in that pretty little face of yours."

Pyxis glanced at Lavinia. She didn't want to go on about how great Walden was, but she'd tell her a little bit about him. "Well. He looks exactly like Rider's Dad, but younger. Like... they're basically clones of one another in looks, but they're completely different people. Walden is sweet and he likes to read a lot. He either wants to go into politics or become a teacher. He's a vegetarian looking to go vegan. His grandmum breeds cats so they've got a house full of kittens and they all pile on him and he has this one cat named Winky who rides around on his shoulder and it's like... completely adorable."

"I don't understand tumblr. You know that. Social media is so weird and invasive sometimes. I barely even use my Facebook," Lavinia pointed out. "Just text me important things."

She listened to Pyxis talk about Walden, feeling a bit disappointed. Pyxis was so straight. "First can we talk about how it's really creepy that Romy wants to date someone who looks exactly like her dad?" Lavinia asked, raising an eyebrow. "He's even got the same name. He doesn't sound like the kind of guy I picture Romy with at all, except that he's nice so he probably lets her get away with murder. Pyxis, he sounds like he'd be great for you. You're already vegan. You love cats. You obviously think he's worth it. He sounds better than Rider."

	Pyxis stared at Lavinia and then frowned. "He wouldn't be great for me. Why would he be great for me?" She asked and then shook her head, taking a drink of the wine. She needed to get drunk. "You talk about him like you really like him," Lavinia said. "That's why he'd be great for you." She lay back on the pillows next to Pyxis, sighing. "You can't become a nun because Rider isn't your boyfriend anymore and the boy you like is already dating a bitch."

She glanced up at Pyxis. "Do you know how many nuns we'd have if every girl that ever happened to became one? Way too many. It's not like the old days when nuns got to do whatever they wanted anyway either. They actually keep their vows of celibacy now."

Lavinia wasn't stupid. Pyxis had slept with him twice, even though he was dating someone else, and still talked about Walden like he was a saint. "Okay, you don't want to date him. That's fine."

She shook her head. "That makes your nun thing even worse, Pyxis. One boy and you give up on yourself? You're better than that. You're amazing. Rider wasn't right for you, but you're going to find someone who is. Now is the time to get drunk and eat sweets and wallow in it. Don't get me wrong. I just want to make sure you don't lose sight of how great you are."

"I'm not great, La." Pyxis shook her head. "It was like I was telling Rider before he was rude and told me to shut up. I really have no redeeming qualities as a person. I'm kind of a joke. The only thing I have going for me is my breasts."

She sighed softly. "Boys think of me as a boy. I'm always one of the guys. I'm cool and everything to hang out with, but they'd rather have delicate flowers."

Lavinia frowned at that. "Rider is a dick," she said firmly. "You are not a joke. You're smart and strong and most of the time, you're very self-confident. You're funny and sweet and sexy. Yeah, you're no quiet, wilting flower, but fuck boys who think you have to be."

She was going to punch Rider in the dick the next time she saw him. "You want to protect people for a living. Keep the peace. You are so far from worthless and I've fancied you forever, so don't tell me that nobody likes you or you'll never find anyone, because I know that's bullshit, even if you don't currently think it is."

Lavinia snorted at that. "I don't know if you remember us having sex or not, but that made me pretty certain that I like girls. I didn't even mean that I wasn't sure what I liked, you know. I just didn't know if I liked boys and girls the same, and I do."

She shrugged, running her fingers through her hair. "It doesn't really matter, Pyxis. I just want you to know that you're desirable. Don't want around feeling like there's something wrong with you because there isn't."
