Thoreau was on Team Draco in the breakup because Pansy was his best friend and she was definitely Team Draco. She hated Merlin. Somehow, supporting Draco emotionally had turned into being his errand boy for a while because Pansy didn't think she could see Merlin and not commit some form of physical assault. He sighed, knocking on the door to Merlin's flat. He understood there had been cheating and that was bad, but sending friends to give exes their stuff and get your own stuff back just seemed petty to him.

It was a good thing he and Rooney hadn't broken up. And that Thoreau was being good now. They wouldn't have to go through any of this drama.

	Merlin looked at the bruises on Thoreau's chest, reaching out to touch them. They were... kind of marvelous looking on the other boy's olive skin. His hand slid over Thoreau's bare chest, pressing on the bruising a bit. "I've never seen anything like this before." Merlin told him, chewing at his bottom lip. "It's interesting." 	Thoreau's breath caught in his throat when Merlin pressed on his bruise, but he did his best not to like it too much. He was already on probation with Rooney. Self-destructing wasn't an option. "Interesting?" He leaned back a bit so Merlin could get a better look at the bruises. "I think so. I like being with someone who's not afraid to hurt me." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	"Lucius was rough with me a few times. But, he never left marks like this." Merlin admitted, looking up at Thoreau. He looked at his lips for a moment, then leaned in and pressed them together. The idea of Rooney touching someone else made Thoreau want to punch Merlin in the face. It was different when it was Radley because Radley had only had sex with them to try and be with him again. "He's my boyfriend, not my friend," Thoreau said. Even if Rooney and him hadn't really gone on dates or anything.

But Thoreau was self-destructive by nature. If he asked Rooney, maybe he'd say no and demand Thoreau came home. Maybe he'd say yes and then hate touching someone else. "I can ask him," he said, taking out his phone and texting Rooney to see what he was up to.

	"I don't want to do something with your boyfriend if that's going to bother you." Merlin shook his head, looking Thoreau over. "Contrary to popular belief, I am not an actual monster." That Thoreau could do. Maybe he'd let Rooney touch Merlin too if he wanted to. Thoreau owed him for getting high again when he wasn't supposed to. "He'll show you as long as you don't touch me. He doesn't like it when I touch other people. I'm his."

Thoreau touched Merlin's arm and brushed their lips together again, mouth lingering against his for a moment. "Watching isn't a problem." He pulled back to text Rooney Merlin's address and ask him if he'd be okay with someone who was interested in being dominated watching them.

	Merlin still felt awful. Even if he was being introduced to something that looked somewhat appealing to him. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair, looking at the box of stuff on the table. "Draco really wants to get rid of me from his life, doesn't he?" He asked, his voice quiet as he opened the box. "I'm never going to get him to love me again." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Thoreau looked up at Merlin from his phone. "I don't know if Draco knows what he wants," he said, after a moment. "I can't speak for him. I think he's hurt and I think he loves you still and he doesn't really know what to do about it so he's rushing into things with a stranger because it feels romantic."

He settled down on Merlin's couch properly. "Love is complicated and messy. Sometimes you don't know for sure how you feel until it's too late to do anything about it. Sometimes you love two people the same and it makes them feel like you don't love either of them. Sometimes people tell you they love you and you wonder what's wrong with them that they could."

"We were fighting a lot. That's why I ended up cheating on Draco." Merlin admitted, looking at Thoreau. "He likes to say that it was all me and that he did nothing wrong. That I'm the monster. He was putting me down pretty much constantly."

He ran a hand through his hair. "He said he was trying to be a good boyfriend because he was cooking me dinner at night. But, he didn't appreciate me. He's the reason I got disowned by my father in the first place. I lost everything for him. And all he could do was make fun of the job I got."
