Merlin felt very content with Draco as his boyfriend again. And he'd become very happy with the way his life was going, even if he was working at a diner to try and support himself. He was working very hard on getting things that he needed and making sure that his bills were paid, even if Lucius was still paying most of them. One day, he'd have to repay the man for everything he'd given him, despite everything else.

But, Merlin had finally saved up the money he'd been trying to save since before he and Draco had broken up to buy him the ring he'd wanted to get for Draco. Even if they couldn't get married right now, he wanted the other boy to have it. He had it hidden in his pocket as he walked into the flat, smiling at Draco. "Did you cook dinner?"

Draco wasn't sure how he felt about being domesticated, but he had kind of gotten used to cooking dinners on nights when Merlin worked and having things ready for his boyfriend when Merlin got home. "Chicken pasta with pesto," he said, looking over his shoulder at Merlin and smiling.

"There's leftover salad from last night too. I thought we could finish it off." He set a couple plates on the table. "Mum wants us to have dinner with her and Thor soon. She says she'll be less stressed and more likely to have a baby if she sees her kids more often. So I think we have to show up or we'll never hear the end of it."

	Merlin smiled at that and kissed Draco's cheek. "That's fine with me. I've always loved your mother. You know that." He promised Draco, then touched his arm, brushing his fingers over it. 	Draco looked at Merlin, raising an eyebrow. "Did you do something?" he asked. "I feel like you're about to tell me something you're worried is going to disappoint me, if you're going out of your way to let me know how much you love me." He kissed Merlin back. 	Merlin laughed at that and shook his head. "No. I haven't done anything, Draco. I just love you and I want you to know it. How much I appreciate everything you're doing for me. Draco did like presents. He gave Merlin a pleased smile as he took the box from him. "You didn't have to get me anything. You should be saving up for my birthday, really."

He opened the box and thing blinked down at the ring it contained in shock. Those were definitely diamonds. Nobody who worked in a diner just went out a bought someone a diamond ring. Draco looked up at Merlin with wide eyes. "You... Is this...?" Holy fuck. It was, wasn't it? Merlin wouldn't throw diamonds around if it wasn't.

	Merlin smiled at Draco. He liked the shocked look on his boyfriend's face. The ring was going to cost him a fortune, but Draco deserved it. Draco was his everything. Draco raised an eyebrow at that. "You got Pansy's permission?" he repeated, looking down at the ring. He couldn't help smiling, even if there was a tiny part of him feeling a bit like this made him out to be the girl or something. "How did you manage that?"

Draco kissed Merlin again, then took the ring out of the box and slid it onto his finger. "I better say yes now, before Pansy changes her mind."

	Merlin didn't think it made Draco seem like the girl. He thought it was more of him just being ready to ask him. He smiled at him and laughed. He'd had to promise Pansy very many things. "Well. Draco laughed at that, wrapping his arms around Merlin and nodding in agreement. "I'll marry you," he promised, leaning in for another kiss. "Try not to do anything that lets Pansy kick you. I like your dick the way it is."

He pressed Merlin up against the counter, smiling against his lips. "Did you tell my mother you were going to ask me? We can tell her and Thor when we see them this weekend. We're going to get married."

	Merlin walked into the antique shop and smiled as he looked around. It was a nice little shop and Draco would see that he would be the only one working it. He kissed his cheek and called out a hello. Tullah came out from behind a curtain and smiled, clapping her hands together. "Merlin. Is this your sweet fiance? It's nice to meet you." 	"It doesn't have to be much." Tullah promised him with a large smile as she took Draco's arm and began to lead him through the store. She picked up a plate and looked at him. 	Evan frowned at Draco for a moment. He was hoping that Draco would allow his father to come up. It wasn't right, even though Lucius had made a huge mistake. Lucius was still his father. "Draco..."
