Kit woke up wrapped around Albus, feeling warm and happy and content, but also sort of dreading today because as nice as it had been, staying with Albus, today was the day he had to leave and Scorpius was coming back. It was the day things got decided. He and Albus had fallen right back into doing everything the way they had before they broke up and today had the potential to be very painful.

He kissed Albus's forehead, then slid out of bed and walked to the kitchen, starting up the coffee machine to make them both a cup. Even if Albus decided their romantic relationship was over, they could always be friends, right? It would suck. A lot. At least at first. But it was doable. Kit fixed two cups of coffee when the pot finished brewing, then walked back over to Albus's bed and sat down next to him, kissing the corner of his mouth. "Coffee, sleeping beauty."

Scorpius didn't believe Albus when he said he loved him anymore, and that seemed like the final straw. The last piece of what could have been a good thing falling out of place.

"I don't want to fight either. I don't want to make you cry. I don't want to walk around feeling like you're ashamed of me and what I do." Scorpius looked up at Albus. "I can't go right back to the way things were before. I'll stay with Phe or my dads. But I'm not... You'll never get rid of me completely, Potter."

Albus looked back at Scorpius when he called him Potter. It seemed so... formal. He nodded slowly, feeling his heart break in his chest, his eyes falling to his hands in his lap. He burst into tears before he pushed himself up and ran to the bathroom.

It was the only place in the flat with privacy. He looked at himself in the mirror as he cried harder, wanting to die.

Scorpius felt like breaking down too, after Albus ran away to cry, but there was nowhere else in the flat for him to go and there wasn't... Kit was here. Kit would comfort Albus. Scorpius needed someone to tell him everything would be okay.

He got off the bed, walking past Kit and grabbing his duffle bag off the floor. "If Albus asks, tell him I'm going to stay with Phe," he said quietly. "And just... don't leave him today. Please." Scorpius left before Kit could respond, trembling from the effort of holding himself together as he left.

Kit watched Scorpius go, then raced to the bathroom, knocking softly before opening the door. "Alby... Alby, I'm sorry," he said, giving Albus a sad look. "I'm not going to leave today. I'll change my ticket."

	Albus was sitting on the counter sobbing by the time that Kit had gotten to the bathroom. He looked at him with tear soaked eyes and shook his head. He felt so pathetic. "I can't do anything." Kit walked up and wrapped his arms around Albus, pulling him close to his chest. "You are not," he said, shaking his head a little. "This isn't your fault, Albus. Maybe you and Scorpius are just better off as friends."

He pulled back a little, so he could look at Albus. "You're an amazing boyfriend. You made me so happy when we were together. And... even though we're not together now, you still make me happy. Just being around you."

	Albus looked back at Kit sadly and shook his head. "I hurt you. I cheated on you with Scorpius. And then Scorpius didn't even want to be around me half the time. And he was always so mad at me." "You cheated on me once," Kit agreed, nodding. "If that pain hadn't been out-weighed by all the other stuff, all the good things we had together, then I wouldn't be here now. But I am. Because you are wonderful, Albus."

He pet at the other boy's hair for a moment, then wiped at the tears on Albus's face with his thumbs. "We're alike. We love each other. We want the same things and we're both willing to make sacrifices for each other's happiness. We were together for two years, Albus. Maybe you just... started a relationship with someone who's a completely different person than me expecting the same things I gave you from them. And that's not your fault."

Things had always been easy with Kit. They'd just been.... too easy. He'd always wondered why they were so well put together and why they got along so well. Sure, they'd had tiny spats, but it had never been difficult and it had never lasted more than a couple of hours.

Albus pulled Kit close and kissed him deeply for a long moment, resting a hand on his neck. "I just want what I had with you. It was perfect. Nothing made me happier."

Kit smiled a little, leaning forward and resting his forehead against Albus's. "You can have what you had with me again," he said, voice soft. "I love you, Albus. Even just being with you for the past day and a half has felt like being home again because you're here."

He pressed another kiss to Albus's lips. "I just want you to be sure you want me back before you agree to it."

	Albus looked back at Kit for a moment, touching his hair. "I do want you back." He promised him, kissing his nose and his cheeks. "But, I want to wait.
