To Callaway
Parker didn't have any injuries to speak of. He was very clear that he wanted to get out of the fucking hospital as soon as he possibly could. As the members of the team questioned him, he was short with his answers, sullen at best and belligerent at worst. They reassured him that they'd called Callaway and that the man would be there soon, but Parker had almost told them not to call because he didn't know if he was ready to see the man. Sure, Reagan had mentioned that the man had been waiting for him, but could he really trust to hope for something so amazing? In Parker's experience, he didn't get such a good thing twice, especially after he'd treated it so poorly the first time around.

Everyone had left him alone, moving on to the next victim, the next little headline or piece of the puzzle depending on how you looked at it. The silence of the little exam room was almost too much to bear and before he knew it, he found himself on the floor with his knees up to his chest, sobbing as quietly as he could.

Callaway nodded his head at Liam and he turned to let the man go as Parker came towards the door with Murphy in tow. Murphy was smaller than Parker, and much thinner, and he looked like a mess. Callaway's heart went out to the boy, and he offered a sad smile of understanding.

"Hello," he said softly.

Parker held onto Murphy, making sure that he would walk all right. He was clearly protective of the boy. "This is Murphy. I wrote about him a lot." And he'd been the most angry with him at times, but only because Murphy reminded him of his darkest parts, his depression and his fears sometimes.

Seeing the two of them close together was surreal for Parker. Those two worlds combined were mind boggling but he knew he'd have to work to integrate them. He wrote down Callaway's number on another piece of paper. "You're going to call me, right?"

Murphy said nothing to Callaway. Instead he just eyed him, feeling a little bit like this man was taking away what was his. But to be fair, Callaway had had Parker first and Parker hadn't ever been his. He was aware that Parker was only his friend out of necessity and that if it hadn't been for being locked in cages side by side, Parker probably never would have even looked at him on the street or anywhere else. Murphy chewed on his bottom lip and when Parker handed him Callaway's number he just looked down at it. He wasn't sure. He didn't know if he could deal with that. But he knew if he told Parker no the boy would insist so he just nodded and folded the piece of paper up. He was wearing a pair of hospital scrubs so he didn't have anywhere to put it, so he just kept it in his hand. "Bye." he whispered, his voice full of defeat.

Callaway frowned, his brow furrowing in concern to see just how emotionally broken this boy was. He couldn't help but wonder if Murphy had always been that way, or if it had been what Adam had done to him. How he'd kept him locked away from the world. He really hoped that this young man had family on their way to help him and to be there for him.

Parker's eyes were watering and he knew he was going to cry again. The hollowness in Murphy was far too much for him to bear. "G'bye," Parker said quickly, trying to back out of the room before the embarrassment of tears came. The idea that Murphy was so unhappy was killing Parker because he didn't know what to do about it and he knew the way the depths of despair felt. He wanted to rescue his friend, but he knew he couldn't.

Once they were back out in the hall, Parker pushed his face against Callaway's chest and cried as quietly as he could.

Callaway wrapped Parker up in his arms with ease, and he held onto the younger man tightly as he dipped his head down to press a kiss to the top of his head.

"He needs time to heal," he murmured softly. "You all do, I imagine, but it looks as if he does most of all. He has family, right? I'm sure they love him very much, and they'll do all that they can for him."

At the very least, Parker knew about Vegas and how close the two of them were. If Murphy had nothing else, Parker knew he had Vegas. "Yeah, he has family. And a boyfriend he doesn't think is coming back. I didn't think you were coming back--I know how horrible that feels."

It just felt good to have Callaway calming him. He couldn't believe how much he'd taken it for granted the years that he'd known him. When Callaway used to try to calm him, sometimes it would only make him more upset and he'd fly off the handle. Now, he felt more appreciative of it.

Callaway kept a solid hold of Parker, only pulling away once he was sure that the younger man was all right. He pressed a kiss to Parker's mouth and smoothed a gentle hand through his hair.

"I'll always be here," he said softly. "Always."

Wallowing in that for a few moments, Parker let the words sink deep inside. He was going to hold Callaway to that this go around. He was going to try not to push him away, or at least that was his goal.

"I'd love to go home now. Is the dog huge now? We can keep calling him Dog if you want." He kind of liked that name with the story behind it.

"He's pretty big now," Callaway said softly as he gave Parker a squeeze, and he pulled back to look at Parker with a tired but very content smile. "Lets go home and see him," he added as he lifted a hand to smooth Parker's hair back.

The thought of taking Parker home was like a dream, one of the best Callaway had ever had.

He was going to have to just trust that Murphy would call him if he needed him. The boy hadn't offered him his number and he'd been afraid to ask. Maybe he could get it from one of the agents later. He interlocked his hands with Callaway's and let him lead the way out. He'd been discharged with the promise that the agents would be in touch if they needed anything else from him.

Getting into Callaway's car was surreal, being out in the open was mind boggling. He held onto the door handle quite tightly, staring wide-eyed out at the street as it passed.

Callaway put some mellow music on low as he drove. He was quiet, but the silence was oddly comfortable, and he reached over with his free hand to take a hold of Parker's while he drove.

"You can talk to me you know," he said softly. "Whenever you want, whenever you're ready. If you want. I'm here, all right?"

Parker's attention was drawn from the window and his lips curled up in the slightest of sardonic smiles. "You had to say it, didn't you." He wasn't mad, more just amused. It made him feel like a psych case, damaged goods. But maybe he was and he knew Callaway was just being nice.

There was a small silence and then he squeezed Callaway's hand, not letting him pull away if he'd wanted to. "Do you really want to know? I mean all of it?"

"Didn't have to say it, I wanted to say it," Callaway said honestly as he glanced from the road, to Parker, and then back to the road again. "Whatever you want to say, or feel you need to get out, I want to hear it. I love you, Parker, and that means all of you and that's not ever going to change. You know that, right, love?"

It had been such a long time since he'd gotten to call Parker any sort of pet name, and it felt good. More than good. It felt like home.

He leaned his head back against the passenger seat, nearly knocked out by Callaway's words. It never failed to surprise him how Callaway could make him go utterly weak inside with just a turn of phrase. It hadn't changed, even after five years.

"I know it now." And he was more likely to trust that now, as if Callaway had passed some great cosmic test. Waiting for him for that long. Something occurred to Parker and he glanced over at the other man. "Have you seriously not had sex in five years?" He wouldn't have blamed him if he'd fucked someone else, after all, Parker had.

Callaway couldn't help but smile and chuckle at that question. It was just so Parker, and he'd missed those little quirks and the way Parker was always so brutally honest.

"I seriously haven't had sex for five years," he repeated as he glanced over at Parker. "I've had dreams of you, though. Lots. But you'll read about them." Because he wanted to read all that Callaway had written while he'd been gone.

Parker was glad to find that his sex drive hadn't wavered when it came to Callaway. He'd feared that the pleasure of sex had been ruined forever by Adam, but that was not the case and that was just one more little triumph over the man.

He turned over in his seat, not caring that Callaway was currently driving. "So you're positive it still works?" He leaned over and kissed Callaway's cheek while his hand slipped pointedly down to the front of his pants.

A part of Callaway worried that it was simply too soon for sex, but damn if he didn't want Parker. He turned his head to catch Parker's mouth with a kiss before he pulled off of the road, onto a dirt one, away from the road. He put the car in park and cut the engine before he turned to pull Parker against him so that he could kiss him hungrily. It had been so long since he'd felt this, too long since he'd had this.

The reaction surprised him, and his brain faultered a little. When it wasn't him doing the kissing, things got a little murky. But he could smell the familiar scent of Callaway, feel the crush of his mouth and knew that he was safe. He whimpered into it, heart leaping into his throat with its rapid beats.

He crawled onto Callaway's lap, deftly avoiding the steering wheel and crooking his body so that he could fit in the narrow space between. "Callaway," he breathed, the name grounding him.

Callaway slipped his hands beneath Parker's shirt and held onto him tightly, devouring his name as it came off of Parker's lips with a kiss. He let it soften after a moment and he pressed a kiss to the tip of Parker's nose.

"I want you so much," he said softly. "Is it too soon? I just missed you so much, I missed this. I missed us. I miss everything, even silly things like how you'd steal the covers at night or the way you lick the center of your lower lip when I'm cooking dinner."

It was romantic, and parts of it broke Parker's heart. He'd missed five years with Callaway. "It's not too soon. It can't come soon enough. I've wasted so much time away from you as it is."

He closed his mouth against Callaway's throat, sucking and biting and groaning as he let his hips clash roughly against the other's. "I just need to remember how you feel and I can't wait one more second."

"Not even for our bed?" Callaway murmured breathily into Parker's hair as he pressed his mouth against the top of his head. "I'm not sure how well I can move in this car, maybe if I was a short man we'd have no problems," he added with a mirthful smile. A hand slipped into Parker's hair and he coaxed his head up so that he could kiss him on the mouth. "God I hate how tall I am," he whispered against Parker's lips.

"I don't hate it. I love how tall you are. You're my perfect, elegant arachnid." Parker had always favored the imagery of that, and Callaway had shown up many times in his more fanciful stories as a wise and beautiful spider.

Parker flicked his tongue against Callaway's lips playfully as he spoke. "I was going to just give you road head, you know. But you pulled off the road too soon." He didn't seem to mind that such a thing was dangerous.

Both of Callaway's hands came up to cup Parker's face. He smiled softly at the younger man's words, and while most people might have found being compared to a spider offensive, Callaway certainly didn't.

"I'm very certain that I wouldn't be able to drive properly if you did that," he mumbled softly.

"That would be okay," he countered. Not that Parker had a death wish or anything, but he was starting to feel so high that he thought danger just didn't apply to him. He'd just escaped half a decade in a dark, dank prison.

But after a moment, he sighed a little and drug himself off of Callaway. "We should absolutely get home," he said with determination.
