After him and Hermione had parted ways for the night, Ron made a mad dash up the stairs to the dorms hoping to Merlin that Harry was there, and for the first time, that Ginny was with him. He was bursting with the news. He couldn't stop grinning. He was in love with Hermione and she was in love back! They'd snogged! They'd told each other they loved each other! They were together!

"HARRY!" He screamed as he reached the dorm door, flinging it open and seeing his best mate's curtains drawn around his bed. "Harry, are you there? Is Ginny there too? Come on! I won't even be mad if she is!" He was practically bouncing. He hadn't been this excited since he'd found out that he was going to the Quidditch World Cup the summer before fourth year.

	Ginny tried to intercept the shirt, but Harry was the best seeker in the school for a reason; he grabbed it easily and began to pull it on as Ginny gave Ron an acidic look. "He's just going to take it off as soon as y--ow!" she yelped, as Harry gave her a firm pinch on the arm. "Bugger off!" she protested as Harry clamped the hand over her mouth. "So!" Harry blustered quickly, keeping his hand covering Ginny's mouth. Ron was in such a good mood, he hadn't really put all of the pieces together about finding Ginny and he together like this. And your sassing is not helping! I swear you delight on making Ron go bonkers. "You were alone in there, yeah? That must have helped ease things along. Erm - so do you have a date planned or anything, even just a study date?" he rushed, nodding at Ron to urge an enthusiastic reply.

	Ron raised an eyebrow at the exchange between the two of them and wondered if they were like this all the time. Shaking it off and thinking he may not want to know what they got up to all the time, he shrugged at Harry's question. "Er, not really, actually. Harry tried to ignore Ginny licking his palm, forcing himself not to burst into laughter from her tickling. Thoughtfully, he looked up at the ceiling and then back at Ron as he dropped his hand from Ginny's mouth and linked his arms around her waist again. "Maybe surprising her with something, to let her know that tonight wasn't just a thing but how much it meant?" he suggested. He grinned at his best mate. "I mean did she get to see you this banjaxed for her? Did she get to know how long you've felt this way and all of that?"

"'Course she did!" He replied. "I was grinning like a loon the entire time. I barely let go of her after everything. Plus, I think when you tell someone you love them it tends to mean that you're mad about them and for quite some time, yeah? She knows all of this." He nodded, sure of it. But then he thought on things and decided some kind of gesture wasn't a bad idea.

"But the surprise thing isn't a bad idea, actually. I'll have to think of something." He said, tapping his chin and beginning to think already.

"That way? It's not just a memory," Ginny pointed out. "She can have something tangible to link with the memory, whether it's a letter or a box of sweets...flowers...something less cliched?" she added with a self-deprecating laugh. She absently reached up to toy with the necklace Harry had given her, trying to think of a good suggestion. With another laugh, she said, "Maybe wrap whatever it is in your unfinished charms assignment."

"And how might one wrap a protection charm?" Ron asked Ginny, giving her a grin and teasing her. He would have to think of something. She already had the locket he'd given her for her birthday so jewelry was out. Maybe a book of some kind? No, she got books all the time.

"Oi!" He said, looking up at both of them as an idea struck him. "I've an idea but I'm not sure how to pull it off." He said, thinking for a moment. "You know the locket I got her for her birthday? If I can somehow sneak it away from her I could get it engraved with the date and a message. Not sure how though, she wears it a lot." He smiled and blushed faintly at that.

	"I can do it," Ginny said matter-of-factly. "I'll tell her that I want to get something like that for Tonks, and if I could borrow it for a day. Either that or straight up knick it and blame it being missing on dear Romilda," she said with a sweet smile. "But I'd rather go with option one, thank you very much. Want me to do it tomorrow?" "Yeah. Yeah, that'd be brill, Gin, thanks." He told her, giving her a thankful and happy smile. This was a good idea. Hermione would be touched, or, at least he hoped she would.

"I'll sneak down to Hogsmeade to get it engraved. They have a jewelry shop there, right?" He asked, thinking he remembered passing one. He had bought the locket in Diagon Alley so he wasn't sure. "Could engrave it with something like 'November 13, 1997. Ron loves Hermione.'" Shaking his head he shrugged. "I dunno."

"Either that, or we can send Hedwig with it down to Tonks herself," Harry pointed out. "She bought Ginny's necklace for me, she knows - stuff like that, she's right fit about dealing with these things." Harry shrugged and grinned back at Ron. "I think that's a great one. Though you mind want to go with 11/13/97, just for space. You have to think about these things," Harry said with a sage nod.

Ron nodded and pointed to Harry in agreement with his whole date point. "Oh, yeah? Tonks'd do that?" He asked, thinking it might be a hell of a lot easier. "Maybe I'll do that then. You'd let me use Hedwig? I don't trust Pig with this one." He said with a smile, gesturing to his tiny owl over by the window in his cage, jumping about.

"Too jittery that one. He'd probably drop the thing."

	"Don't say that! You'll hurt his feelings!" Ginny scolded. "How is he supposed to build confidence if you slash on him so!" She nodded. "I'd trust Tonks myself. She gets so excited to do things like this, it makes her feel all sneaky, like it's a mission," she laughed. "Plus, she's just...a girl, she knows girl things like the right fonts and all of that." 	Ron nodded, thinking just giving it to her in person would work out nicely. He had no reason to be embarrassed anymore now that he knew how she felt. "Wish I had some firewhiskey left." "And even if you hadn't, I would have insisted," she laughed, gently kicking Ron with her foot. Under all of the teasing and the goading, Ginny was so thrilled for her brother. Her emotions overwhelmed her, and she scrambled forward, leaning on the parchments to give him a large hug and then a smacking kiss on the cheek. "I'm so thrilled for you, Ron, really, this is so incredible."

Harry grinned, shaking his head slightly at Ginny's outpouring of affection. All he felt, honestly, was relief - finally, finally this was happening, something he knew each of them wanted for so long. Hermione's resignation, Ron's ulcer-causing second-guessing - they were his family, they were everything to him, and if they got their heart's desire, each other, wasn't that just the best thing in the world?

He gave Ron a smile. "I'm not gonna hug ya mate, but I agree. It's bloody brills."
