DIAGON ALLEY, EARTHQUAKE
"And you know what? There is not a sale worth going out in this heat, I'm serious!"

Javier grinned, putting up his hands in a defensive manner, "I'm sorry, but I don't need a pair of robes that badly, have you seen those temperatures? I'm surprised Fortescue's is still standing, would've thought they'd have melted awaaaaaay----whoa, what is---"

He gripped onto the desk, eyes widening as he rumbled and rolled away because the fucking building was shaking! Javier let out numerous words that were not politically correct to say on the wireless, and toppled out of his chair, busting his head on the floor. Strings of angry Spanish soared out of his mouth as he crawled up to his knees, and Javier grabbed the microphone.

Through the glass he saw that the other members of his staff were looking like they'd just been shot, and it took Javier a few good seconds to realize what the fuck happened, as another rumbling, rolling coursed through the studio. Javier dropped to the ground, covering his head with his hand as he shouted angrily into the microphone:

"ARE WE EXPERIENCING A FUCKING EARTHQUAKE IN DIAGON ALLEY?"

What was that?

Ralph automatically stopped moving, halfway through climbing over an upside-down table. Had he just heard something move, or was someone moving something? He stood still for a few moments, deciding it would be better to stay quiet than make his presence known. Plus, if someone was hurt, he should be silent to hear whatever noise the person was making better the next time. He kept his wand high, however, just incase it was a death eater lurking in the shadows.

But, no flying jets of light appeared, and Ralph was still frozen where he stood. It was possible that the noise had been him, he was throwing things back to the ground loudly---

There it was again!

"Hello?" Ralph ventured, taking a couple of steps forward. It could be Miranda! Most likely not, but that was the reason why he was here. You were allowed to be lucky sometimes, right? He knew she had said she would be working here today, so it was just a matter of locating her... "Miranda?" he asked again, just a bit away from the door which actually hid Miranda behind it.

It sounded like someone was kicking something. Like a... table, or a chair. Or a door. Quickly, Ralph began opening all the doors he could find on the floor, including cabinets and shelves, since he could not visibly see anyone in the middle of the room with him.

It was her Ralph. The sound of his voice, much clearer and louder now, gave Miranda a new sense of strength, and she used all her strength to kick at the door one more time. Thankfully it hadn't been fully shut, and the door swung open, banging loudly on the door. Miranda gasped at the light shooting into her eyes, but the big shock was seeing the wreckage and debris littering the hallway of her inn. Her home! Where was her family? Why wasn't anyone screaming? Oh God, were they all trapped like her or---or worse?

"Ohhhhh," she let out in shock, and her expression turned from miserable to terrified as the door swung back closed because of the bounce against the wall. "NO!"

Shit, shit, shit. Miranda's teeth chattered with her new batch of tears and she slumped lower to the ground. She could not open that door again, there was no way. She could barely breathe now, because of her panic, how the fuck was she supposed to get out of her? If Ralph hadn't seen the door--he might've passed by already, he might have left already, and she would be stuck here for the rest of her life and---and---oh God. Miranda shut her eyes to stop making the room swirl around her, the pitch blackness felt like it was caving in on her again.

Okay, he definitely heard her that time. Ralph was sure it was Miranda, or made himself believe it was because he didn't want to believe it was anyone else. His plan was to come here and get Miranda first, so that was exactly what he was going to try to do. Of course, if there was anyone else around here, he would obviously help them, but---

Out of the corner of his eye, Ralph caught the movement of the door's swing. He turned completely in time to watch it slam shut again, but that didn't matter. Someone was in there, that's what he'd been hearing, and all that mattered was that he finally knew where to look.

Praying it was the someone he was looking for, Ralph jumped across the room to wrench the door back open. Just please don't be a Death Eater. It took a few seconds for his eyes to adjust, but once they did---

"Miranda!" Ralph exclaimed with such relief that he nearly forgot that he had just found her half covered with things in a closet. Though his relief quickly faded once he noticed the blood sopping down her face once he helped her up. "Oh shit," he observed, unable to control his mouth. Maybe it was better if he didn't look directly at her head? Finding it hard (the fact that he was much taller than her did not help), Ralph tightening his grip under her arms while he kicked things out of the way to give her a clear path.

"Are you okay? What happened? Where's--- can you walk?'

Miranda took in a large gasp of air as Ralph lifted her off the ground; he'd found her. Her arms slung over his shoulders and for a second felt like she couldn't do anything more, but it was Ralph and he was here! Miranda didn't feel strength, she just felt the desperate need to cling onto him as if her life depended on it, which, at this moment, it probably did.

"I don't---know!" she sobbed into his shoulder, completely bewildered and stunned. She had no answers, she honestly had no idea what had happened other than the earth had decided to pull itself out from underneath the Leaky Cauldron. Where were her parents? Where was Morty? Maddox and Mortimer were near by too, how were they?

Ralph seemed okay, which was the only clear thing she could take and possess right now. She needed to grip onto him because he was all that she knew, and he was fine so that meant that other things could be fine. They had to be fine.

Her legs seemed to be waking up now that she was standing, but the world was still spinning so Miranda didn't dare let go of Ralph. She had a feeling she wouldn't be letting go for a long, long time, and held him as tightly as her weakened state would allow.

Okay, okay, okay! He needed to get her to help. Mungo's, or the Order--- the Order house would be safer, definitely. And Mungo's would be a madhouse! Who knew how long Miranda would have to wait to get attended to, if she even had enough time for that kind of waiting. Her head looked really bad, not to mention it seemed like walking was extremely difficult.... there was so much blood. Usually blood didn't bother him, his blood, other people's blood, it didn't matter. But the fact that this was Miranda's blood dripping down her face and staining onto his clothes--- that was a completely different story entirely.

"It's okay, it's okay! Everything's okay, you're going to be okay," Ralph replied weakly. He hitched her up as he spoke, deciding that it would be easier for the both of them if he just carried her. They shouldn't waste any of her extra energy, and obviously it wasn't a problem for him. Ralph continued to push things out of the way with his feet, secretly in hopes of maybe finding signs of other people in the room, but it was to no avail.

"I'm going to--- we're going to the Order house," he stated, refusing to look down at her at this point. "Don't freak out," Ralph warned, waiting for Miranda to respond before exiting the building.

All she could do was cry. She felt like such a shoddy Gryffindor for crying like she was, but she couldn't do anything else. Miranda felt like it was a huge effort just to keep her arms hung around Ralph's neck as they moved, she couldn't even keep her head up to look at him and---crying, she was just crying and couldn't stop. It wasn't going to stop, either, because from the small glimpses she was getting of the Leaky Cauldron, Miranda was getting a fuller picture of how truly devastated her home was.

Her home.

Her heart broke over and over, but she nodded against Ralph. The Order house! They had a house. Miranda couldn't even find it in herself to be excited about getting to see it--of course it would only be because she was about ready to die.

"Okay," she cried, getting a burst of strength and gripping tighter onto Ralph, "I won't."

He would come back, as soon as someone in the Order had taken Miranda from him to help her. It was really shoddy, and Ralph would rather not have it play out that way, but... what else could he do? She looked back, and he was in no position to help her in any way. Plus, there were loads of people still out there, including some Order people that still hadn't been located-- they needed his help.

Whoa, whoa that was a loaded gun of a statement-- never had Ralph previously thought before he would be in the position to say something like that.

Ralph dared to look down at Miranda, against his better judgement, and the sight of her sealed the deal. Lots of people alone could be trapped in here like Miranda had been, her family was here, and despite how much Miranda's brothers in particular intimidated him, if any of them needed help, he would give it. They were like family, right? No, they were family to him.

"Okay, hold on," Ralph said, more to himself than to Miranda. She was holding on already, probably as much as she could, but that didn't change the fact that her grip was still weak, and he was pretty sure she was going to pass out from apparating. But it was the only way to go to the Order quick enough, so---

"Don't pass out," he stated, again more for himself than her. Ralph gripped her as tightly as he could, like his life depended on it, and closed his eyes to apparate. She was going to be fine, she was going to be fine. They diasappeared with a loud crack.
