Minister's Birthday Gala! Open to Everyone!
Katerina let out a long, bored breath. It seemed like the Ministry had been holding an extravagant event every other weekend, as if they had nothing better to do. Of course there was so much to be done every day of every week, but with You-Know-Who gone and most of the death eaters either dead or behind bars, it seemed like the events committee had way too much time on their hands.

At least she got to go dress shopping. As Katerina declined a dance from a fellow in her department, she wondered if she actually had to wait for the Minister to blow out the candles of her cake before she could leave. It was supposed to be such an honor to be invited to these events, but when everyone was invited it took away the glamor, and then you were expected to sit around for a good two hours so that your department head could make sure you were making him look good.

She really needed a drink, or a hot bloke to start talking to her. On days like this Katerina envied her older sister, whose sole purpose in life was to marry rich, pureblooded men. It only took her a few moments to recall that her sister had seven dead husbands to deal with, and now a son for the rest of her life. Yes---Katerina would much rather be forced to mingle at these events than carry those sort of stories on her shoulders.

But, at the moment, she was bored, and let out a sigh in hopes that some handsome bloke would become concerned.

Holly did not know what to call this thing she had with Theo Nott, because it did not even feel right to call it a relationship. She did not feel as if she could, or even if she wanted to, call him her boyfriend. He was a very good looking man, somewhat intelligent and quite mysterious; maybe she just enjoyed that he absolutely did not care at all that she was a famous quidditch player. Holly could not remember the last time she'd been out with a man more than once and had not had to discuss strategies or behind-the-scenes gossip, so...it felt rather good to be treated like a somewhat normal girl.

Of course, she still was quite the diva, so she wasn't allowing him to treat her like she was boring or ordinary, of course. Just not as a beastly, bitchy quidditch star, was all.

"I thought I owed the Minister my presence, to keep the party interesting," she said with a smile, taking the rose and putting it to her nose for a second in a flirty manner.

"I'm sure he, among many others, are more than grateful." He said taking two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter, handing one to Holly.

"But I would assume I top that list, as I would have been devastated to find myself without such a lovely date to such an event." He sipped his champagne glancing around the room to see if there was anyone he cared to introduce her too. There wasn't. He really did work with a dull lot.

"I can show you where our table is if you would like." he said offering his arm out to her.

Holly gladly took his arm, appreciating the graciousness in his manner even if she normally didn't like such flirtatious tactics. She was finding that not being as ridiculously aggressive as she was on the field, in real life, made for much happier evenings. Not that Holly allowed herself to be dragged around or pushed into things she didn't particularly feel like doing, but it was nice to take a break from constantly being on guard and in charge.

She wondered if it was from all her years trying to avoid the tabloids and papers. Sure she loved the spotlight, but she refused to be put out there looking poorly.

"Prime seating, I assume?" she asked with a wink. She wondered if he danced, but Holly wasn't even sure if she did.
