End of Season party! For the 3rd

Drystan did not usually consider himself a sore loser. He had experienced enough defeats in his career to understand that winning was sometimes as much luck as it was skill—the latter of which he had plenty, the former he was starting to doubt he had any. He would even go so far as to say this was one of the top seasons he'd ever played. Losing the Cup might not be such a hardship, in that light. But to lose to the team he considered the most unsportsmanlike in the League was just an insult to injury. To have lost to them for the third time in the season was, in his perfectly reasonable and justified opinion, grounds for murder.

But a lifetime sentence in Azkaban would leave behind a wife and three children who would likely be just fine without him, but he'd miss them. So mass murder was off the table for tonight, at the very least.

Press snapped pictures outside the admittedly-abandoned looking building of 23 High Street, and Drystan knew there were more inside. Entering the rundown lobby, by-passing the elevator with the out-of-order sign, they made their way up the long flight of stairs to the grand doors of the first floor landing and into the—holy Mer—

Of course, the invitation specified formal wear, but Drystan hadn't honestly been expecting a high-brow formal occasion from the Kestrels. It was a ballroom. There was emerald green positively everywhere. There was something that looked suspiciously like a string ensemble. A bar, where he fancied he would spend as much time as possible, was in the corner. Platters with hors d'oeuvres and glass flutes zoomed by. Having stopped moving, wearing a stupefied expression, Bess had to tug his arm to get him to continue his stride.

"Hell," he muttered, pulling a grim face at the ostentatious yet somehow tasteful décor. Lifting their linked hands, he kissed the back of hers while surveying the spectacle before him.

"Five minutes? Five minutes isn't too soon."

ooc: Quidditch players/personnel + their guests! BLACK TIE! Party is on the first floor in this cool but creepy rundown building. Have fun! :D

For someone who hated the press and equally despised events that let them in and marked the fact that the Magpies did not win the cup as they did last year, Odette was actually in an uncharacteristically good mood. Noah was here, which she would admit was most likely behind 97% her sunny disposition. How could it not be? With the season officially over, she had nothing to distract her from the fact that he was not going to be home until June, and impromptu trips to Hogwarts weren't exactly something someone could do all the time. Being with him made her happy--- especially now since there was no longer the luxury of seeing each other everyday.

But now, Noah was off catching up with other people he knew, leaving her to wander through the crowd. She didn't particularly feel like bothering any of her teammates--- the off-season was a time for separation, in her opinion--- which left.... oh, there was Tony!

As she approached him, she had to admit, in the past she had always been frosty toward him purely because of his association with Adrian.... but from due to recent events, her had started to grow on her. He wasn't as bad at all as her brother, which begged the question as to why they were friends, but that wasn't exactly her business. Yet, anyway.

"Well don't you look dreamy," Odette said once she finally reached him, an easy smile on her face. A real smile, even, not like one of her multiple, and infamous, fake ones. He should really be honored. She leaned one elbow on the bar, crossing her legs as she stood.

Odette! His partner in the disaster that was the Mattias/Brand wedding. Tony had found himself so frazzled, so completely unsure of what to do that day that he'd lost most of his senses. Odette had managed to get him through the day and get the crowd out of the church. Then there was the reception to take care of so---so after years of avoiding each other and getting dirty looks shot at him because of the things Adrian had done to her in the past, Tony was finally able to truly consider Odette a friend.

"Dreamy?" he said, shaking his head. With his drink in his hand he pointed at Odette, a smirk on his face, "You think I look dreamy?"

Tony let out a laugh. Of course the first compliment of the night he received was from a married woman. Well no, Wendy had told him he looked adorable but she had her husband on her arm, and Carys had said he'd looked quite fit but she was a bajillion months pregnant, so no, it wasn't his first compliment, but it certainly felt like it because he could only take it so far. Tony hated feeling like this, but what the hell! He was a bitter, bitter bloke right now.

"If you'd said that to me in Hogwarts, oh boy," he said, shaking his head. Tony finished his drink, knowing he'd probably regret being so vocal, "I fancied you like mad at school, but your brother was a tremendous dick and wouldn't let me do anything about it, bless his soul."

Where was Adrian, anyway? They'd promised each other they wouldn't let themselves drown in self-pity, and look where he was. Tony scratched the back of his head, "Stella too, but nooo, said Mr. Mattias."

Merlin, this was what she got for being nice to people. An opening of floodgates... concerning the past, no less! She also probably should have checked how drunk Tony was as well--- on a daily basis he proved to be more energetic than she ever desired to be, so Odette could only imagine what he would be like especially happy. If anything, this could always be one of those stories she told to completely embarrass him later on.

Oohh she liked that. Nothing was quite like drunken confessions, even she would admit that, having committed a few in her day. So, hiding the fact that everything Tony was saying made her secretly pleased, Odette moved to rest the side of her face on her hand.

"Really?" she asked, now tilting her head as she spoke. "That shocks me." Sarcastically or not, half of it was the truth. It was no small secret that Odette had utterly loathed Adrian, remnants of those feelings still lingering today. And-- she really hadn't a clue about Tony, then, either. If anything, it showed that she obviously hadn't been as nasty as she thought back then, if the result were his best friend fancying her. She would like to think that had been her plan all along, but that hadn't exactly been on her mind, either.

"I'm sorry to report the feelings were not mutual," she said, shaking her head slightly. "I think! I once thought as using you as collateral damage once, though, in a revenge plot." Completely true, she was not a vengeful person at all. "I'm not sure about Estella though...."
