Axe's Anniversary of Birth!!!!
Charlie was pretty sure he'd missed out on a wonderful career as a party planner. As he stared out at the dance floor, which he stood over on a platform where the DJ was spinning a mix of wizard and muggle music (even with some popular French songs that were actually pretty catchy if Charlie said so himself). He wasn't surprised at how many people showed up, but it still nearly startling to see how bloody happy everyone was to be there! Sure, some looked ridiculous with the fake mustaches that were passed out (not required, obviously), but a lot had actually grown out their beards and it was----cool, they tried, they wanted to be there and they wanted to have a good time. Charlie wanted to have a good time.

The Kestrels were not top of the pack, and while he believed in his team completely, the stress of the numbers had been getting to them. A night like this was necessary, and maybe it could rejuvenate the team that had lost some valuable members this season and had done a bit of shifting around. They were still trying to get themselves into place, and it needed to happen faster than it was.

Plus, Axe had been pissy all week that no one had acknowledged the anniversary of his birth.

Charlie grabbed the mic from the DJ and grinned, enjoying colorful scene laid out in front of him. funkybuddha club had been a perfect choice for the night, "Don't everyone tire themselves out! There's still a lot more festivites to look forward to!"

Delilah had lost track of Charlie around her second drink, and then lost track of Nora around her fourth or fifth. And somewhere around the time she spotted either one of them again, she had lost track of how many drinks she had. It wasn't unusual for Delilah to lose track of things at a party, it actually happened quite often. But there was one thing she was for certain she didn't lose track of (or rather forget about) at this particular party was her boyfriend.

Because she didn't have one anymore. That is apparently what happened when you get drunk and forget about your Canadian boyfriend back in England and make out with a french man in France. And didn't it sound like such an international tragedy when she thought about it that way. Not that any of that matter now. Now Delilah Spinnet was single so it didn't matter who she snogged in the middle of the dance floor.

The fact that she didn't exactly remember who asked her to dance at this point in time, was a different story. Whoever it was had spectacular snogging skills so, she wasn't going to complain any time soon.

"I just so happen to have access to the V.I.P. lounge. There are couches there." she suggested as the song faded running her hand up his side. "I am sure it is far less crowded."

There were two people that Richard decided he had a bone to pick with after this party. "Of course it's a good idea!" Sam had said when Richard had asked if attending the birthday party for a player was a good idea for the impartial doctor. "Worst case scenario: you go home sloshed and alone," Ethan had added, "and you don't get sloshed, ever, mate. I've tried." Then they had both agreed "nothing could go wrong" and Richard now decided that those were the most damning of all words.

Richard was not a heavy drinker. Not even close. Yet, somehow he'd managed to drink enough at the party that he was not his normal, wallflower self. He blamed the pretty waitress that had limited him to one question per drink, which were free so she kept them coming as he got increasingly bold until she stopped coming back. Like a kicked puppy, Richard had wandered off looking for the new love of his life and suddenly found another -- Delilah Spinnet to be exact.

Honestly? Richard hadn't expected her to say yes when he'd asked her to dance. He knew how drunk he had to look, but it was a night of whims and what was one more? Her stupid smile and nod had made him make a stupid smile and nod, and then he was suddenly searching for sober as he tried not to step on her feet and keep her entertained. Then she'd said he talked too much. Him! Richard The Silent! Merlin's bloody beard!

So he'd kissed her. It seemed logical at the time and she really, really didn't seem to mind. In fact, Richard was pretty sure she was enjoying herself because she was leaning into him and, and her hands. Her hands were moving and they were holding on instead of pushing away so, so this was good, yeah? Then she asked if he wanted to go to the VIP Room where there were couches and his mind just sort of stopped.

"C-couches, yeah?" Richard stammered as he tried desperately to focus on what she was saying and look into her eyes, which were quite close to his because she was so bloody tall. He wasn't used to girls being so tall.

Chuckling and feeling a bit silly, but not caring because he was sloshed, Richard found her hands with his and kissed her cheek.

"Lead the way, mi'lady," he mused against her ear as he teetered back on his heel, waiting to be tugged around by the hand and knowing he was going to enjoy every moment of it now, and regret it all tomorrow. But that was tomorrow. He'd worry about it then.

Delilah giggled as he stuttered over the word couches. Well wasn't that just adorable. Everything, just everything about made Delilah want to sit and stare at him all day. His face was so pretty. Well maybe not just stare. That would be such a waste.

She giggled again as his beard tickled her face as he leaned into kiss her cheek. At first Delilah thought this mustache idea of Charlie's was a terrible one. She had always thought beards and mustaches would be so scratchy. She had been proven terribly terribly wrong.

She used the leverage of having his hand in hers to pull him into another kiss. She was a professional dueler, she had coordination. Delilah could easily walk this fine gentleman backwards towards the V.I.P. area and still kiss him.

Delilah also was a bit deluded. Her heel wobbled as she misstepped, the only stopping her from falling over completely was the fact she was already holding onto Richard. She used her free hand to steady herself using his shoulder. "Perhaps not the best idea," she admitted with a laugh. She stole one more kiss before turning and leading him properly across the room never letting go of his hand. It would be tragic if she lost track of him.

Delilah stumbled again trying to walk between the small drink table and the couch, but this time she settled for just attempting to make it look like she was sitting down instead of trying to stay standing. "Stupid shoes were clearly not made for walking." She griped kicking them off while simultaneously tugging gently on Richard's arm to encourage him to sit next to her. "See this is already a hundred times more comfortable. "

The kisses made his mind and heart all aflutter. Richard had the tendency to fall faster than the pull of gravity so the fact that he was hanging onto every kiss and every word she said like Delilah was Merlin's gift? Not entirely surprising. Still, he was utterly smitten, no matter how drunk he happened to be, and he would have followed her lead anywhere.

Richard gasped and fretted when she stumbled as she tried to walk and snog, but was relieved when she walked it off like it was nothing. Granted, he would have been first in line to take care of her ankle if she'd sprained it as a result. Taking care of people was what he did and taking care of people he liked was even more common. Especially when it came to women, which is why he was used to just being their friend and was gobsmacked anytime one showed him affection.

Richard's eyes never left her as they made their way toward the VIP area. He was in a sort of tunnel-vision mode and Delilah was getting a healthy dose of his open gawking. He even pinched himself a couple times before they made it to the other room. This sort of thing did not happen to him, ever.

Seeing her stumble as she tried to sit, Richard's smile fell and he instinctively reached toward her though he hand't even attempted to move between the couch table yet. Of course, she easily landed on the couch and quickly took off the shoes while he nearly had a heart attack, which he attempted to cover up with another smile though there was a flush going up his neck and into his ears. He decided not to attempt the same as she had and he took a seat toward the end of the couch before scooting toward her, which had to look ridiculous, but he'd preferred this to tripping and landing in her lap like a complete berk.

"This is quite nice," he replied as soon as he'd sidled up aside Delilah.

Richard was then leaning-in and slipping an arm around her to hold her close for a kiss -- a noisy peck on the mouth. He then smiled as he met her gaze and his free hand came up to graze his top knuckle under her chin, making her head tip.

"Is there anything you need?" he asked quietly and his eyes searched her face, attempting to give her an out or a break if she needed one because Richard was very much content with snogging her for the time being.

Delilah grinned brightly looking around the room. "It is, isn't it."

She opened her mouth to asked what was wrong when he tilted her chin up. But anything she was about to say died on her lips. Was there anything she needed? Well there were many things she needed. One of them was for him to stop being so pretty so she could think properly. Or maybe to stop being so nice. And the way she was looking at her, he was being so sincere she couldn't even manage a lewd joke. They were just snogging and here he was making her heart flutter a bit. She was such a sucker for nice guys.

Which was a terrible thing because obviously she couldn't treat them the way they deserved to be treated. Now she was thinking about what she did to Scott and she felt sad. But not sad, there was a pretty face in front of hers waiting for an answer as all this crazy thoughts ran through her head.

A pretty face that she didn't have a name for. See she was doing it already. Surely he had told her his name and she had just already forgotten it. "A name?" she said quietly. "I'm so sorry. I'm sure you have told me, I just... I forgot. I do that. Forget things and it's really terrible. And as much as I enjoy snogging you I should know your name, and not forget it. I don't want to forget your name. You are quite nice. And so very handsome. And now I'm rambling. I need to stop rambling. That is what I need." She ducked her head covering her face with her hand. So much for kissing him anymore. If he had any sense he'd run off while he had the chance.

Smile faltering as she babbled and hid her face, Richard shook his head, not that she could see him through her hand. He gently gripped her wrist and pulled her hand down and met her gaze with a searching one, worried that he was coming on too strong. She was so pretty and nice though. He didn't really understand why she got the rap she did from others.

"It's Rich," he told her with a weak smile as his hand slid to take hers. "We didn't talk much. It's alright."

Rubbing his thumb over her fingers, Richard glanced to them as he continued to talk.

"I might have already known your name, Delilah, but I didn't know you. I don't expect you to know me or remember me. I didn't even expect you to want to dance."

He sighed and continued to work her fingers with little massages, not really knowing what he was doing at this point. Richard was drunk and he was nervous, which were not a good combination for him.

"No expectations tonight, alright?" he prompted rhetorically with an imploring look. "Just enjoy yourself. If you want me to go, I can," he added, having trouble keeping the downtrodden sigh out of his voice. "It's fine."

Richard was used to being turned away for being overzealous. It was his calling card.

Delilah let him pull her hand away from her face and chanced looking up at his. Rich was a nice name, she liked it and thought she could remember that. Then he kept talking and Delilah got confused again.

"Wait, shh. Why wouldn't I want to dance? That's just silly. Do you not own a mirror? Have you not seen your face?" She asked unable to keep her hand reaching up to cup his cheek.

Oh that sounded incredibly shallow. This is why she shouldn't drink, she said and did everything thought more than when she was sober. "Not that that's the most important thing, you are a spectacular snog too. Also not most important but certainly helpful."

Delilah pull his face to hers for a slow kiss because she was talking far far to much. "The point is, the very last thing I want is for you to leave. And and, you should enjoy your self too. It's not just about me okay."

She brought her hand down off his face to toy with his collar. "So if you'd like, I would very much like going back to snogging now, and then later, perhaps we can talk because I am certain you have to be more than just a pretty face. Or we can talk now and snog later. But honestly right now I am probably not the best conversationalist and I'm rambling again. I do that when I've been drinking. Actually I do that always but its worse when I have been. Why haven't you made me stop talking yet?" It was a very valid question. She drew a breath ready to ask him if now he wanted to leave, because if only one person in this room could claim the title of overzealous, Delilah would steal the title in a heart beat.

The self-defeating attitude really wasn't something that could be helped in Richard's case. He was talented enough at putting himself down when he was sober. Alcohol just made it worse.

Richard smiled weakly after she'd kissed him and made his insides fizz again. He listened intently as she spoke and tried not to lose his mind when she started playing with his shirt. It really was insane to him that this was happening. She was too pretty to be this kind -- because Richard first and foremost considered any affection he received from women to be close to charity. He was rather awful to himself and wished he could make the bad thoughts stop to help him save face, but alcohol was an evil minx and just made him downright cruel to his already shoddy self-image.

She wanted to keep kissing him, though. So, that was good, right?

"I like listening to you talk," Richard admitted before leaning in for a slow snog, pulling several increasingly feverish kisses from her lips.

Feeling a little bolder, now, Richard's hand found Delilah's knee, which he gently squeezed. He smiled as he searched her gaze for an reaction.

"Is that not normal?" he asked quietly before kissing her again. It unnerved him a little that someone could say they didn't like to hear Delilah talk. Honestly.

"You can talk all you want," he added, "and snog all you want. I'm going to enjoy myself either way."

Delilah laughed a little. "You say that now." She murmured leaning into his kisses. "I wouldn't say not normal...just...I know I talk a lot...I'm sure people just stop listening..." There were moments that she was fairly sure that Nora just nodded her head and just pretended to listen to half the things she rambled about. And Delilah was certain that Charlie stopped listening to her on a regular basis.

Charlie. Delilah had forgotten about Charlie, that her twin brother was some where around here. This was his party, his VIP room. She didn't even bother to check to see if he was in the room. Although if he were in the room, she was sure that he would have made his presence know by now. Still, she pulled back for just a moment to take a glance around the room. No Charlie, no worries.

She turned her attention back to Richard, bright grin on her face. "So we are on the same page then." Delilah said scooting closer to him, tucking her legs underneath of her. She pulled him in for another kiss and trailed her hands down his sides, resting them on his hips. But after a few moments the angle proved to be awkward so she pulled herself into Richard's lap. "I promise you can listen to me talk later. But right now I'm done talking."
