For those of you comfortable sharing, what are your thoughts on theology and spirituality?

	I'm a mostly-practicing Nova Roman Traditionalist. Personal rites for Faunus and Terra Mater. For me personally, she's kinda the closest thing to a big-G God. Between the traditional component and the earth-powers, it's a little complicated. Hanging out with the son of Hercules is also complicated. (Reply to this)

	Well. I don't put much stock in it. I don't mind what others believe about it but it's all just not me. I do get compared to religious figures a lot when I heal people and that is really weird and uncomfortable though. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	I don’t really care for religion, though I understand why others care so much for much for it. Don’t mistake this for a lack a faith, just more that I don’t like organized religions, because I do have faith, just more vague and general like no matter how bad things get they will get better. 	Well, admittedly some organized religions can be a little...problematic. But you know, it's possible for a religion to be somewhat organized without being authoritarian or doctrinal. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	I find that very hard to believe, because it seems like that’s what always happens when someone has moral authority over other people. But if you could give me an example then of one that doesn’t then I might be willing to talk about it, though I’ve always felt that having faith in something is more important than any religion. The last part I can totally agree with. I guess I'm just a bit of a cheerleader for exercising faith within a community environment.

Well, in the UUA, for instance, as long as everybody affirms the inherent worth and dignity of every person and is ready to support the rest of the congregation and encourage spiritual growth and the search for meaning, from whatever angle any person is looking for it, the details are flexible. All of them. My family's pretty old school, but a lot aren't, and Dad doesn't have so much of a moral authority as an availability to anyone who needs to talk.

I actually know a lot about religions on mom’s side of the family is Roman Catholic and Lutheran and dad’s side is Orthodox Jewish while dad himself is an Egyptian Cultist. Dad’s father was one of the most well respected up and coming rabbis in Europe before the holocaust, and Dad himself was the avatar of an Egyptian god who resurrected quite a few times. Though I tend to agree more with mom’s view of why bother with religion.

	Maybe I got the name wrong but he was the primordial god of the moon and a powerful healer, he also acted as the god of vengeance too which is what he made dad his warrior-priest of. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
