Time Bendy: After the Kraken (Open)

Steve ventured into the kitchen to grab something to eat.  He always had some tofu in the kitchen to eat.  Point of note: Steve was, in fact a vegetarian.  It was among the few things his team actually knew about him, despite the fact that they should probably know more about him.  He was the type of guy who got on the team mostly because of his parents in addition to what he could do, and less because he was a sociable person and made great friends with everybody.  That was definitely something he had to work on.

Ash is still so very new to the group. She was more of a guest than a team member really. And she still found much of the surface world strange and unusual.

For example. Pine apples. They really looked very strange. That was what Steve would find Asherah examining very closely.

Steve hadn't actually met Asherah, to be honest. He'd heard about her, but being how he was, hadn't seen her. So he while watching her examine the pineapple was indeed strange, her presence altogether was a little odd. "Uh... hello," he greeted. "If there something wrong with that pineapple?"

She hadn't noticed him so hearing him behind her had Ash jump. Then blush and duck behind her hair.

"N-No. There's nothing wrong with it." She shrugs and still hides behind her hair a bit. She isn't feeling very brave at the moment. :U was just curious. I never saw one before."

"Oh." He noticed her attempt to hide. But... it wasn't working very well. "Um... I'm sure I would do the same to strange foods, as well."

It was a bit awkward talking with her. Steve was almost satisfied to stop the conversation there, but he knew he needed to try and be more sociable. Dad always tried to get him to be like that. "My name's Steve," he said. "Steve Logan."

She was just a very shy person. "I haven't seen a lot of stuff before. Some of it is just really strange."

She hovers quite obviously between staying very shy and being brave. "Asherah Curry. Please call me Ash. It's nice to meet you."

He smiled, trying to help her be more brave than shy. "Pleased to meet you, Ash. I've heard about you from the rest of the team. Everyone really enjoys your company."

"I noticed. I'm... sort of like that. I don't socialize with the rest of the team very much, so it's even only by chance that I heard about you." He was a bit creepy. The way he acted, he almost seemed socially awkward.

Which made the,m a set pair. Ash is socially awkward. "Um.... Really? I thought I was just you know.... Tired. And adjusting. Because this is all so very weird. Not. Not that I'm saying you're weird. Becauseyoudon'tseemthatweirdatall."

"No, it's alright. I'm green. If that isn't weird, then there must be a frequent occurrence of green Atlanteans." He laughed inwardly, but smirked a little at the thought of green fish men.

Steve knew about Tempest. Dad had told him some stuff about the guy. "I imagine there are. So much of the ocean is undiscovered by those of us here on land. If I had the opportunity, I would like to see some of the unknown creatures in it's depths. But, I can't leave for that long."

"Yes... I am." He lifted his hand and created a mini-monkey on his palm. "It's a big reason why I don't make many friends, to tell the truth. It may not even be about being able to read minds, but by how I can read minds--like something from a horror movie." It's hard being a hero when what you can do makes people scared of you.

"I understand. You don't need to tell me anything you don't feel comfortable telling me." He lets the mini-monkey dissipate. "There are things I don't openly share with people, either. You probably know just as much about me now as the rest of the Teen Titans."

Steve saw that he was putting her down. That wasn't what he meant to do, at all, so he decided to try and cheer her up. "But," he said, "It's nice to hear it again every once in awhile. Thank you for that."
