Picking up the pieces (Cerdian)
The first thing Lian had did once the Suicide Squad had gotten her safely home? Flop down on her bed. She then made calls to everyone who probably noticed that she was missing to tell them that she was fine, and needed a couple of days to herself, but people could stop over if they felt so inclined.

Though she was kind of hoping that they wouldn't. She needed some time to think about things. About what happened. Damien. Cerdian.

Thinking of Cerdian just made a huge hole in her stomach. They had damaged their relationship beyond repair, and Lian wasn't sure if they could fix things this time. She wanted to...she really did. But she wasn't sure if they could.

A couple of days after she had returned home, Lian was lying on her bed, staring up and the ceiling and still mulling over everything in her head when she heard a knock on her door.

"It's open," she called from down the hall.

It was probably Tim. He called several times, and he was probably there with J'anna. Tim would ask her to go over what happened in exact detail while J'anna went through her cupboards, asking Lian if she had any real food.

Lian sat up on her bed, pulling her bathrobe on over her pajamas. She might as well make herself decent.

	"I'm sorry to intrude, but I received messages from both your father and Tim asking me to help with the next phase of your security system." Cerdian says stoically. He won't admit that he's worried Lian won't survive to see her due date. Everytime he looks into her future, or anyone's, he sees only shadow. He doesn't know what it means. "You should be resting." Granted, Cait had shut that idea down cold, but it was only a matter of time before he was matched with some other young lady or even Princess Asherah. Father seemed to enjoy this new bit of politics, for all his claims of hating it.

Lian didn't know that.

"My father is a lord of Atlantis now. He may arrange a betrothal with the king's blessing. And I am not wholly without a voice in the process." he says off-handedly.

Yes, Cerdian knows he's being petty. Maybe he'll feel bad about it later.

Cerdian remembers all those times he'd said that, too. All the times he said he didn't envy Cait her royal heritage because it meant she would have to marry someone she didn't love.

"Things change." he said simply.

Pause.

"I realized something the other day. With the exceptions of Caitria, J'anna and my mother...my life is /filled/ with women I barely know. So, really, anyone I marry fits that description. How well did you know your husband when you married him?" Cerdian asks.

He decides to switch subjects.

"The wards I'm placing can only be undone by me, but you'll have a charm you can use to get in and out of your home. Never forget it or share it with anyone. Also, there will be a...deterrent for anyone who tries to force their way in." he says.

"I hope you are not seeking a return on your security deposit."

"That's just as well. It will get messy if someone tries to force their way in here." he says.

"You will need to supply me with names of those people you wish to have charms to get past the warding spell. I will also place a spell upon your room and the nursery for your children, for added protecion." Cerdian says.

"The spells will not harm them in any way...and I have an idea for a beneficial one that might aid you."
