Happy Birthday, Izzy!
After his meetings with Joey and (who he thinks might be) Justin, Cassidy is trying to focus on something else so that he doesn't freak out. Freaking out would be bad. Not only because he might have just ratted out Tina, but because he's about to take a pretty big risk. He puts on his new containment suit with the strange decorations and makes sure it fits. It does. The strange metallic designs glow faintly as he looks at himself in the mirror.

He slips on a new pair of jeans and a long-sleeve black shirt, followed by boots, and takes another deep breath. Then he goes downstairs to the front gate at the appointed time. Carlos, Joey's guy, hands over the small package to Cassidy and Cassidy thanks him. Carlos nods and walks away, leaving Cassidy to consider the last part of his plan.

Does he leave the gift, knock and run or does he actually hand it to her. To solve his dilemma, Cassidy asks himself an all-important question:

What would Cyclops do?

Ten minutes (and much internal debate later) Cassidy knocks on Izzy's door. When she answers, he thrusts the package toward her and takes a deep breath.

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?"

	Cassidy returns the hug, glad that Izzy like the gifts. He'd been nervous, especially since he didn't know what else to get her. "I'm glad you like them, Izzy. "Hey, anythin' you want to try out, give a holler and Ah'll be glad to try it out with you. Even if Ah've already done it a million times before."

Izzy nodded. "Pretty close. Grandma Lucinda's the best. Sometimes she comes up with Mom and Dad or with Uncle Sam and Aunt Lila to visit me and Zak. Or sometimes by herself, just to surprise us. Ah'm sure she'd love to meet ya."

"I'd really like that, Izzy, thanks. I didn't get a lot of good food where I'm from, so I'll try anything you want to make." he grins.

"I never knew my grandparents, or my parents." Cassidy says. "It would be nice to have brothers and sisters, or even cousins. But I hear grandparents are really cool, too." Cassidy says, thinking about the woman with red hair from his dream.

He thinks of her at the oddest times and the strange language she sings in. He doesn't know who she is, or why she sings to the baby in his dream, but he knows she loved that baby, whoever she was.

"Ah'll make you anythin' you like," she said with a grin of her, "Just tell me when and where."

"They are," said Izzy, "Well at least, Grandma Lucinda is. Mama's dad died before Ah was born, and so did Daddy's parents. But if you want cousins and aunts and uncles, Ah can maybe spare a couple of those. Mama's one out of ten children."

Izzy titled her head. "Do you remember your Mama? Even just a little bit? Or your Dad?"

Cassidy simply returns the smile, noting that he will do just that.

"Ten kids? Wow. That's awesome. I bet it's nice always having someone to talk to or play with or just relax with." Cassidy says. He can't think of a situation where it wouldn't be great to have lots of siblings.

"Nope, neither one. My..." Cassidy hesitates, looking for a word for Mr. Millbury, "...caretaker, I guess you could call him, told me that my parents left me with him in exchange for money. His daughter talked to me sometimes, but the people who worked for him were my main...companions." he says.

"I have dreams sometimes, about this lady holding a baby. She's always singing in a language I don't know, and talking to the baby. I don't know who they are, or why though." Cassidy says.

"So, how do you like Xavier's?" he asks, changing the subject.

"No need to apologize. That life is behind me now." Cassidy says, hoping that if he thinks it enough, it'll be true.

"Not everyone looks at me like a I'm a freak anymore, mostly. Things with Mina will never be right, but I have to learn to live with that." he says, looking away. He wondered what Izzy would think of him if she knew about Fargo, about all those other people who, like Jake, had had the misfortune of simply being near him on the wrong day.

"By the way, Izzy, I never thanked you for coming to my rescue that day. You kept a cool head and snapped me back reality. I admire that about you. Among other things." he smiles.
