Summary: Frankie is coming to visit Tatum over winter break, and there will be adorable.
Tatum had spent the majority of her break so far doing a whole lot of nothing. She hadn't really gone out much, just to the mall once with Sera. If you could, of course, consider the meager fifteen stores to even be a mall at all. Other than that, she had hung out at home, usually staying up late and sleeping in equally late. Often just in time to take dinner with the rest of her family, before retiring to her bedroom again for more countless hours of gaming and internet surfing.
Her phone had been a constant companion, hanging out beside the mousepad on her desk, or in the back pockets of her jeans. When she got the text from Frankie, she couldn't help but grin. She was half excited for spending the day with her girlfriend, and half excited for getting to spend the any way except for alone. While the internet might have been amusing, it was lonely fun. And there was only so much social stimulation one could get from playing online Wii games.
When Frankie arrived on Thursday morning, everyone was already gone out for the day, and Tatum was actually awake. It was the first time in forever that she had actually slept at night and woken up before noon, and it was somewhat of a struggle, circle a bit heavy under her eyes. She hung out watching television in the living room, until the brunette actually showed up. With a lack of any other great ideas of what to do, they decided to go for a walk, which Tatum accompanied with a smoke. Once she had pulled her
jacket, they were outside, Tatum leisurely leading the way the lake, lighting up as they walked.
It was almost lunch time before they finally got back, and Tatum was feeling the effects of the negative degree weather. She felt like her hands might freeze off, although she had had them pulled up into the sleeves the whole time. Her cheeks felt frozen, but she was smiling, still slightly high, but mostly just happy to be there. Opening the back door to let them in, she held it for Frankie, grinning.
"I shoulda wore gloves," she commented, as she pulled her hand off of the icy doorknob.
The house was silent, other than the tick of a clock in the dining room, and the warmth that radiated out was brilliant. The redhead felt warmed up already, although it did leave that stinging burning sensation in it's wake.
