Characters: Jenny & Sera. Setting: Various locations throughout the Bon. Content: SFW. Summary: Sera is taking Jenny on a date, and they do lots of nerdy things together all while having some awkward conversation on the way. Jenny had to say that this was one of the better dates that she had been on. She hadn't, really, been on that many anyway. Quinn had never really called anything between them a date, even if some of the visits over vacations had been like dates, and boys never really wanted to go anywhere fun. Even Charlie usually just wanted to drive around all over the place. It was different going on a date with your best friend; best friends usually wanted to do the same thing that you did. The day had been just like regular hanging out, except getting to hold hands, and sneak little kisses when no one was paying attention. They had started out the day at the New Orleans museum of art, and then moved on to get lunch. They had made their way to the Bon, gone to eat at Fat Tuesday's, and then visited Brain Freeze. Now, as Jenny was still working away at a cherry cheesecake cone, they were browsing their way through Old Tom's Tomes. When most people came to a book store with her, they always seemed to want to get what they needed and leave, but Sera was actually browsing. It was a welcome change. She could get used to this. She wasn't picking up anything herself, not wanting to slop any of her ice cream on it, but she peered carefully over Sera's shoulder to see what the brunette was reading. Her chin rested comfortably against said shoulder, her eyes trailing over the page. "Any good?" she asked, blinking a bit. Her free hand came to rest lightly on Sera's hip. "I'm really having fun," she added, smiling. Tags: !incomplete, jennifer parry, seraphim donnelly-rosseau

"Nothing in particular. I ordered a bunch of books online not long ago.. Amazon had a really good sale. I got most of my stuff for like, twenty percent off of the regular price, plus iRewards!" Jenny replied, grinning wildly. "If my mother taught me anything, it's to look for a sale," she joked, pulling away from Sera some to wander over to another nearby shelf.
She let her fingertips run over the spines of the books, reading the titles in her head, just making sure there wasn't anything really interesting that they hadn't noticed yet. "I kind of had somewhere I wanted to go, but it's stupid."

"No, it's silly!" Jenny protested, though she was grinning a little bit herself. She turned slightly, giving Sera skeptical look, before shaking her head quickly. "You don't even believe in Divination, you're definitely going to think it's a dumb idea, you'll laugh," she added, just a bit of a hint. She returned her attention to the books, pulling one out and looking over the front of it for a moment.

"Yeah, that's fine," Jenny agreed, smiling a little. She reached over, hooking her arm into Sera's loosely, as if either trying to reassure her or tease her. Maybe a mix of both. "We'd love a tarot reading. If you have the space to fit us in," she added, returning her attention to the siblings standing in front of her.
The shop was empty other than the four of them, so she figured there ought to be time, but it was only polite to ask.

Jenny took her own seat, mimicking Sera and scooting her chair up slightly. She let her hands rest on the table, just barely, as she looked over at the brunette for a moment. "I'm ready if you are," she joked, smiling.
She returned her attention to the siblings on the other side of the table. "I guess we're ready whenever," the blonde said, resisting the urge to reach over and squeeze Sera's hand briefly. She brushed her leg against hers instead, just a little. She didn't want to come off overly excitable, but this was sort of amazing. She had never gotten a reading from a real legitimate source, if you didn't count professors.

Henri took the deck back and laid out the top three cards, in a series of taps and jabs to his sister he let her know it was quite the lay out. "The Death card," she said pointing to the first card. "Do not look so frightened," she said although her blind eyes could not see the girls. "It tells us that you are a facing a big change," she explained. "Perhaps several big changes," she said a bit vaguely.
"The Ace of Cups," Odille said with a smile. "There is a new love in your life, is there not young lady? A very exciting time indeed," she said kindly.
"And last but not least, the blind folded lady, Seven of Swords. You need to find a balance in your life. Do not focus too much on one thing or another. Make peace with all the new things in your life and you will find yourself able to cope with the changes coming your way."
"Any questions for Henri?"

Odille nodded to Jenny as Henri shuffled the cards back. He placed them in front of Jenny. "Go ahead dear," Odille told the blonde. "Shuffle the deck."
Once they were shuffled Henri proceeded with the same layout he had used to Sera. His eyes went wide when he read the cards and he looked to his sister.
"Another interesting lay out," Odille said after Henri tapped on each card, giving his sister the wordless code they had devised years ago. "The Page of Swords," she said. "You have received a message as of late from an unknown source. You must be careful with this message and what you do with it dear. Rumors and falsehoods may be the result of a poorly handled message."
She moved on to the second card, Odille's voice dropped. "The Tower," she said darkly. "Henri thinks these readings are connected, he thinks that this is the darkness coming your way. It will shake your foundations to the core and when it is over there will only be the truth, fully exposed," she said ominously.
"The Eight of Wands," she said of the last card. "You must face this challenge without fear in your heart. You can see the in the picture on the card that the girl pushes all others out of the way and strides right up to the lion," she said describing the card she could not see. "Use this girl as your example. Face the beast with no fear," she said gently.

Jenny had been really hoping for a simple reading, maybe something like Sera's first card. Something about new love, maybe something about hiding things from family.. something familiar, conscious, that she could make heads or tails out of. What Odille told her did not fall into this category.
Her hand on Sera's knee had tensed up, clutching at the fabric of her jeans. She exchanged a very brief glance toward the brunette, before looking back to the siblings.
"I.. can't help but notice that this wasn't a really positive reading," she managed, trailing off for a moment. "How am I supposed to do that.. any of that stuff?"
She glanced at her lap quickly. "I have fear in my heart just hearing things like that. I had.. a message, that was true. It's been.. hard to forget about," she admitted. When compared to Sera, Jenny was taking this much harder, much more seriously. To her, this was very real, and very troubling.
