Pym Poisoning
In the weeks following the battle to free the various women from the Deviants, Steve had seen almost no super-heroic action. It was as though the world of crime had decided to take a bit of a holiday break. He'd continued to take his regular doses of growth formula, just in case, but had only had one call to change size during that time.

Now, though, he entered the training room, ready for a giant-sized work out. He concentrated, getting ready to push himself to his nominal fifteen feet fighting height. He felt the usual tingle run through his body and then... pain. It started in his guys but quickly spread to the rest of his body, feeling like his every nerve was on fire. He couldn't move, his muscles felt locked, couldn't even cry out in pain or cry out for help.

He saw the floor coming up to meet him (or was he coming down to meet it? He couldn't tell) but could not do anything to stop it. He hit the floor with a hard thud.

Dani clapped a hand to his forehead. No fever, as far as she could tell. "I don't think he can stand," she said to Iason, before turning back to Steve. "Steve...I'm going to carry you into the locker room-okay?" She bent down to pick him up in her arms slowly, carrying him to the boy's locker room. "Female entering!" She called out, as she kicked open the door and placed him on a bench.

"I can siphon off some of it, would should decrease the pain and prevent any imminent distress, but it will take someone a lot more versed in magic than I am to determine the trigger that caused the effect to manifest now." he replies, beginning to do just that.
Deviant energies were absorbable, but the process was painful and unpleasant, and just the opposite of sustenance, requiring some of his own energy stores to detoxify.

"Contact my cousin to let me know I'm delayed. Her number is in the directory, and I won't be able to expend too much energy, as per our current travel plans, until I've purged this. See if Daniel is available to check him out more thoroughly. If not, contact the X-Men. They have a magical healer. If you have medical training, a sample of his blood would also be helpful. I could look at it at the microscopic level, or the labs might be able to find something."

Anya arrived at the mansion on Friday night to news that her boyfriend was in the infirmary. Her bag was dropped and she followed Jarvis down to the infirmary.

She hadn't heard anything before arriving, so she hoped that whatever it was that it wasn't serious. Someone would have called her if it were, right? Better yet, why didn't Steve call her?

Clearly worried she tapped a foot impatiently as Jarvis punched in his access code to open the doors to the infirmary.

Once the door was opened Anya hurried inside. She peeked around the corner of the area where Steve was. She didn't want to wake him if he was sleeping.
